  1. Are you allowed to put stuff into your protein drink to make them tastier? Like if you have a vanilla drink, can you put in some strawberries? Or if you have a choc shake, can you put some coffee crystals in (decaf)? I'm asking for pre surgery and post surgery.... I'm going to be starting to incorporate protein shakes into my diet (surgery probably not until jan), just want to get a handle on things now.... Any advice, suggestions are VERY VERY WELCOMED...Thanks!!
  2. :sad:My ins requires a 6 month waiting period...which is fine, gives me time to make all the appointments and mentally and physically get myself ready for this huge step in my life.... My journey started July 1st and am thinking my surgery will be in January sometime. I've quite smoking...it'll be 4 weeks on Tuesday...which is HUGE for me! I honestly loved to smoke and miss it. But it's going to make me healthier and wealthier not to smoke. That was 1 or 2 milestones for me to overcome for this surgery....the last one I have to do is lose my pre-surgery weight....that I'm having a hard time with. At my first appt, I was told I had to lose 13lbs. Now that I quit smoking and gained 6lbs, now I have to lose roughly 20lbs. I just can't motivate myself to do it? Feeling very frustrated and sad.... Maybe I just need to clean out my cupboards and go grocery shopping and start fresh tomorrow.... Christy
  3. My name is Christy, I'm 37 yrs old and have decided to take the Lap Band journey. My insurance requires a 6 month wait....which, during that time I need to meet with my PCP once a month (for a total of 7 visits), I need to meet with a physical therapist 2 times, a nutritionist 2 times, a psychologist 1 time as well as go to group meetings. I've met with my PCP 3 times now, I've met the nutritionist, physical therapist. I need to meet my psychiatrist....been putting that off as my ins wont cover that, which means I have to come up with $450. I've been overweight my entire life, I'm sick of being fat and want to start "LIVING LIFE" and not watching from the sidelines..... I've recently quit smoking (3 weeks ago yesterday) and have started walking daily.... I hope to meet some friends and learn some things I didn't know about the lap band.....
