  1. I would refer to your doctor or dietiican, but I drank 2-3 premier protein drinks a day, broth, V8, a lot of water.
  2. I must be different. I am 11 days out from RNY w/Hitial Hernia repair on 11/4. The first 3 days sucked, gas pain in shoulders and back. After day three, I feel like I could run a marathon now. Zero issues what so ever. Eating as recommended, no issues drinking liquids or protein. I feel amazing. I am also back at work.
  3. I am 11 days out from my RNY and back to work. I feel amazing. The first three days sucked, but after that, I am ready to go to war again. This show will continue rolling!
  4. Dr. Sharma with the New Life Clinic.
  5. I am finally having my RNY with Hiatal Hernia repair on 11/4 in Jacksonville Fl. Anyone in my area having surgery? I am extremely excited and ready to get this party started.
  6. I am scheduled for my RNY and hernia repair on the 4th. I am sooooo ready for this. Let's get this party started.
  7. I "WAS"scheduled for my RNY on 10/19, BUT my Dr. has to leave for two weeks on a family emergency. So now I am scheduled for 11/4. Please nomoredelays.
  8. I have my "30 day out" appt next week, then hopefully get scheduled for the end of Oct, first week of Nov. I am now getting back into the swing of things of eating better and protein drink for dinner. I am soooo ready to get this party started!!!!!
  9. I did get my initial refferal from my primary care for hiatal hernia repair. I met with two different doctors and they both highly recommended I also get the RNY. So that is how it worked out for me.
  10. After my referral went to tricare, they assigned me my surgeon.
  11. My PA said she had to call several patients who were scheduled and on their two week liquid diet, many were in tears. That would really suck.
  12. It took less than 5 days for them to approve. I had to do 3 months of check-ins, and show a little weight loss. Now if they would allow elective surgeries here in Jacksonville, Fl.
  13. Everything is complete. Insurance approved. Now I have to wait for the freaking hospitals to allow elective surgery. I am having my Hiatal Hernia repaired and a RNY. I am ready to goooooooo.
  14. I started this adventure a month ago, meeting the DR. etc. I was asked to replace one meal a day with a protein drink. When I finally get scheduled (depending on COVID now hospitals are not taking elective surgeries) two weeks prior to surgery a completly liquid diet. He wants me to drop 20 lbs prior to scheduling my appt. You must shrink your liver to make it easier for the surgery.
  15. Has anyone purched or used these cookbooks? Which ones would you recommend? Thanks
  16. Congrats. I have my second appt on Friday. Hopefully RNY 1st week of Sept.
  17. Awesome, keep it up. Who was your Dr?
  18. I am having RNY probably early Sept due to a hiatal hernia and Barrets espohagus. I have my 2nd Dr visit on Friday.
  19. Anyone from the Jacksonville area?
  20. Thank you. I am actually looking forward to this and if I can lose 100 lbs, heck I will be at my prime weight. I am sure it is a challenge to keep up with the new ideas towards foods and what you can and cannot eat, but I am ready for the challenge.
  21. I had my first Dr. visit last week, and I am in the beginning phase of the process. I came across your forum and it has some great info and advise. I am having my bypass surgery to help with my Barratts esophagus and GERD and repairing my hiatal hernia. I was told that this is the best route after talking with two doctors. Losing weight and possibly getting rid of my sleep apnea is a wonderful benefit also. looking at the end of August, first week in Sept for my surgery. I have no true worries, I just have to follow directions and learn what my limits may be. Keep the good and bad info coming. I know each one of us is different, and have different struggles before, during and after the procedure.
