One year ago today I had my surgery. Down 108 lbs with a ways to go. I don’t see it in the mirror, but i do in pictures. I’m thankful for this journey and look forward to getting to goal. 77 lbs to go. I’m more than halfway there! ?

It is very common for us to no longer tolerate whey. My nutritionist had me use plant based protein starting with the pre op diet and to also change to almond milk. So glad I did.

I am officially one year our from surgery. While I'm not at goal like some of the wonderful people posting, I've lost nearly 170lbs since I started this journey. I hope to hit goal by this time 2020. (another 100#)

I love this forum! Thank you to all the December 2018 Sleever's that come back and update! I can always find truth and support here. I love the chart as it validates that I am doing good even if progress has slowed. I agree with Deblearn - will have to look at this chart often to keep my sanity. Onward we go.

I'm trying that now, eating more calories, thinking maybe my body is in starvation mode and trying to break up a stall and slow weight loss

In the past 2 weeks I have noticed that all of a sudden i can eat more than 2 ounces of food. Last night I had a piece of chicken that was 3 ounces or a little more. I couldn't seem to eat anything more than 2 ounces for the first 5 and a half months. Anyone else have this?
Las month i visited my surgeon and he asked if i was eating 3 ounces yet, I said not even close. He told me to work up to it, but it seems to have just happened.
Having said that I have lost 10 pounds in the last 2 weeks after a week to ten day stall. I need new pants!

That’s so interesting ! I too find that if I eat a little more , a stall will break . Although also a good spin class and tons of water with lemon helps too !

I'm the same with you actually even though you have had much less weight to lose than i have. We are on the same wave length. I'm going to get down to your weight with in the 2 years. so far so good 128 pounds in 5 months!

I have 11 to go, but I also just changed my goal from 170 to 174.5. I guess that's cheating???? JK, I think I would look sickly at 170 and frankly 174,5 probably wouldn't be sustainable for me (despite what that stupid BMI chart says). At this point, I am not actively trying to lose weight. If it happens, it happens. I was actually consciously increasing my calorie intake (planned out using MFP) to find a level where I am comfortable and maintain my current weight. Ironically, as I increased my calorie intake, I think that broke me out of the stall I must have been in (didn't really bother me since I was happy where I was) and I started losing again. Go figure! I am not used to losing weight without making a herculean effort. We'll see where things end up.
