As some may know, I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery on May 16th. A few weeks after surgery, I had some complications and was unable to keep anything down, and a scan revealed I had a stricture. On June 11th I had a second surgery to remove the stricture. The stricture occurred at the bottom of my stomach and had pretty much looked like a plug, letting nothing pass into my intestines.
Let me say that this process has been hard. After the complication, I had to go back to the basics and was in a lot of pain, just as I was after the first surgery. I was in the hospital for 2 days after sleeve surgery and out for a week after surgery to remove the stricture.
Still, I don't regret it. It was still one of the best decisions I have made for my health. As of my last weigh-in on July 11th, I am 50lbs down. I am thankful to my doctors at BluePoint and for the great care I received from Sentara Potomac Hospital. And more importantly, I am grateful to God for watching over me through two surgeries and keeping me here to tell you all about it!

I am sooo sorry to hear that , I also was to have surgery July 9th however due to clause -not on the insurance but on my employer side - I have to wait til September .... Keep your head up .... Maybe for whatever reason it just was not meant to be in July ... waiting a couple of months is better than never having it all... who knows maybe we will both be getting it done around the same time ..

1. Lose 20 lbs
2. Get in all of my Protein, liquids & Vitamins on a daily basis
3. Exercise 3-4 times each week

If you have read any of my previous post, most of you know I have been suffering with a stricture since my surgery on May 16th. They first tried fixing the issue with a Upper Endscopy but it didn't work. Now 2 weeks later, am headed into surgery to have it surgerical fixed. Please keep me in your prayers this morning!

I know how you feel! I have a stricture as well. I had surgery May 16th and after two weeks, started having issues keeping food down. They have determined that my issue is at the bottom of my stomach, which has healed almost close. Sometime food and liquid make it through, sometime it don't. They opened it once with a Upper Endscopy but a week later am having the issue again. Tommorow my doctor is going back in to repair the issue. They are going to cut across and re-stich it so things can pass through.
In my opinion, you need another surgery and fast! You spent a lot money on this and now you are living in a nightmare. That's no way to live.

I had my sugery on May 16th and my goal was to lose 90lbs. I started at 275 on the pre-op diet, and on the date of the sugery I was 267. I am now overall 32lbs down(243) in less than a month from sugery!

I'm right there with ya Delta_35!! I am constantly belching all the time!! I don't have the nausea with it like you do tho. It doesn't matter if I am drinking or eating I always have to belch. It does get embarrassing when you're out in public, but I guess I can always blame it on the hubby for doing it (he he he)

Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers!! HE heard them and I am being discharged today . I was told that the Upper GI showed that the tip of my stomach had fold over. This supposedly happended from how my stomach is shaped and over time it healed itself over the bottom part, forming a "plug," This explained the throwing up, which was a result of me eating and food sitting in my stomach and not being able to pass through my intestines. Right now they told me I need to stick to the mushie diet and ensure I am eating three times a day. I was also told that if it happens again, I may need a small sugery where they go in and make an incision, but as of now the problem is solved and I am good to go!

I know why I haven't changed sizes even though I have lost 40 lbs since my sleeve on April 10th because my clothes were tight as hell : ) now they are loose. : )

Everything is going good so far! I been sticking to liquids only as a preacaution but today I am going to switch to a full liquid diet as my docotor recommended. About to eat some cream of wheat, oh how lucky I am! lol.

Did u have a swallow test day after surgery ?

Sorry that you are dealing with this problem.
Hopefully things can be found out/understood better today - and an answer will resolve your problem
