KimJ384 got a reaction from marketingdude in Lap Band and Hcg?I ordered the HCG and I'm extremely excited about it! I can get down to my goal weight then I can maintain it by eating healthy and as long as I stick to the little portion and with having Lapband It should be simple as that! Dont hate on something you don't know anything about. Ever heard don't knock it before you try it? People say the same things about Lapband only because they don't know anything about it and just think its a quick fix and an easy way out...but as we all know here that is far from the truth!!!! So I think a little extra boost and help with a natural hormone won't hurt anyone!!!!

KimJ384 reacted to Maddysgram in Not The Daughter My Mother Wished I Would BeNumber 1, your mother has a problem not you. You can't change your past but you can change today. Today is your day!! You don't need anyone's approval. It's time you loved you for the person God made you. I don't even know you, but I love you because you're a child of God and God doesn't make mistakes.
All I can say is may God have mercy on your mom's soul.

KimJ384 reacted to Threetimesacharm in Bariatric Soup RecipeSince you have not been banded yet, you have no idea what to eat and what works. I have many years under my belt and can offer a wealth of do's and don'ts. You should really take the information for what it is, helpful. You might think differently once you are banded..........................good luck to YOU!!

KimJ384 reacted to LBSept09 in Anyone Try Advocare?!?!?I agree Kim. I diet to lose even with the band. I love to eat, plain and simple. I an not an emotional eater, not a stress eater. I eat because I love the hobby of eating....lol
Yes the band helps, but it doesn't make me not want to eat. I struggle every single day.
Some days I do it for my help. Some days I do it to look better. Some days I do it for my back and spinal cord injury. Allot of days I lost the battle and didn't eat right at all.
Soo, along with my band and healthy eating life style changes, I also throw in diets and different routines and gimmicks. Anything that works for me at the time.

KimJ384 got a reaction from ilikebunnies in 1 Year TodayWell today is my 1 year band anniversary. I guess I expected to be at my goal by now since I only wanted to lose 85-90 pounds but I have managed to get off 53 pounds so I guess if you add that up its about a pound a week. I feel amazing I love the way I look and the way clothes Fit me. I guess the only thing that really bothers me is what number the scale shows! I want it to say 150 but it won't go past 175 but I am
Very close and I know I will be there one day! I haven't been working at it as hard as I could have here lately due to pinch nerve, cyst on ovaries and possible endometriosis! I'm a ball of mess! Just happy I have lost what I have and I'm not going back!!!

Hurray! That is 40 lbs less than you were 8 months ago. That is awesome. You are doing agood job and really should be proud. Don't let the folks who say they lost 100 in a year intimidate you. Everyone is differnt. Maybe you have less overall to loose. Be proud of your 40 lbs. Best wishes to future losses. Karen

40 lbs is awesome. You're normal. Most of us lose 2-8 lbs a month. So you lose 5 lbs. You're better than normal.

KimJ384 reacted to JustDoIt130 in I Am Having Such A Hard Time Now.You won't like this advice- but it is- Keep moving forward. (that's from the Disney movie Meet the Robinsons, one of my favorites).
You've heard it before - it's a marathon, not a sprint. Keep on doing what you've been doing. Are you logging your food? Consistent with exercise? Maybe try to shake up your workouts by doing something different, or up your calories one day every 2 weeks just a couple hundred calories to shake up your metabolism.
You have lost a lot of weight- remember it gets harder as you get thinner- and you will do it!!!!

KimJ384 reacted to Cazzy in I Am Having Such A Hard Time Now.You dont mention what exercise you are doing, i can totally and probably many here can , empathise with those last few stubborn lbs that just wont shift. I had to increase my exercise by at least half again in order to get rid of the last 25 lbs, it slowed down to around a 1lb a week sometimes 2 lbs but never the 3lbs a week i was used to. Change something small, do more strength training, just make sure u are burning more calories than u are eating.. try reducing carbs a little, increase protein, etc, increase daily intake by a 100 calories ... change something little and dont give up, just see it as a problem that needs solving and that isnt going to beat u, .. it will eventually come off if u are determined enough ... small changes can lead to small differences and that has helped me throughout this

KimJ384 reacted to kll724 in I Am Having Such A Hard Time Now.I agree with the other ladies, the last few lbs are the hardest. When you have a lot of weight to loose, the lbs seem to fall off magically. But as your goal gets closer, it is harder to loose. And by the way, I find maintenance tedious! My surgeon refuses to give me any further fills, as with a barium swallow, he can tell that I can not tolerate a fill over 5 cc. It makes me jealous of other who can get 7,8 or 9 in a 10 cc band. But, anyway, I have had to lower my calorie count to around 1100 a day to loose and 1400 to stay the same. You might need to do the same. Good luck, Karen

KimJ384 reacted to Sunshyne068 in I Am Having Such A Hard Time Now.have you tried the "5 day pouch test" to break your plateau? (google it or search on the forums) also what about exercise? change up your current routine ... or add an extra 20-30 mins to what youre doing twice a week and see if that helps. maybe up your calories for 2 days then drop them back down and see if that shocks your body into dropping some pounds.
You look great from you avatar pic though ... great job so far!

KimJ384 reacted to 2muchfun in I Am Having Such A Hard Time Now.Go to your nutritionist. She/he should be able to pin down your plateau problem. That's their job.

KimJ384 reacted to muelle in Starvation ModeFrom day one my surgeon said, "Don't eat if you are not hungry." Well I lost all hunger sensation after having surgery, so I ate very very little. At my one month post op check I told him I was never hungry and only ate once every other day, but was taking vitamins. He told me as long as I wasn't having nutrition issues, like hair loss and other types of poor nutrition symptoms, that I could continue this. I hit my goal weight at nine or ten months post op following this. I never felt like I was being deprived and if I wanted a cookie, I ate a cookie So long story short, I agree that the starvation mode phrase gets overused on this site. When I joined it a year and a half ago, a post like this would have been shunned and some people would have really been upset by this, but it seems to me that more surgeons are starting to give the advice my surgeon gave all along I am not advocating for people to not eat, follow what your surgeon tells you please. I don't want anyone to take what I am saying as medical advice.....it's not, it's just my personal experience. Good luck to everyone with your journeys!
