  1. Melody, Good luck. You do have a great attitude which is half the battle. I have lost 120 plus but have 6o to go. Went for a fill last week but now have no restriction. I had an upper gi this week but they didn't see anything. Now they are going to do a scope and put contrast in the port to see if there is a leak. I pray that it will all be ok for many reasons but mainly because my insurance will not pay so I will have to pay for it all. I do not have the money. We will see. I will say a prayer for you right now.
  2. Jennifer, I hate to say that they do not pay for it. They will not even consider it. I had to pay cash. Rumor is that in two or three years they will be paying but who wants to wait that long. Good luck.
  3. Little Froggy, I had the same exact thing happen to me last week. I went in for a fill even though I had some restriction. She pulled some of the fluid out and said "you have plenty of fluid and then she added some more. I left and felt zero restriction. They did a upper gi this week. Said they see no slippage or erosion. Now he wants to do a scope next week and put contrast in the port to see if there is a leak. I was cash pay so I will have to pay for all of this. I am praying that this is just a freak thing. How are you doing now?

Ok everyone. Went to the doc yesterday. He did an upper GI. They didn't see a slip or erosion. So now he is going to do a scope and put contrast in the port to see if there is a leak. Still worried about paying for anymore surgery. But it could be worse.
  5. I go to the doc tomorrow. I will let you know what the results are. The nurse practitioner to draw all of the fluid out and then put it and more back in.

I want to start off by saying that getting the lap band is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I would do it over again in a second. I had my surgery 1 and 1/2 years ago. I have lost 120 lbs and have about 70 more to go. I paid cash because my insurance would not pay for it. I am saying this with a problem as I speak. I have had 7 or more fills. I lost count. I lost restriction after a fill last week. I am going back to my surgeon tomorrow. I have no idea what is wrong. Could be fixed easily or could mean another surgery. It definitely scares me that I may have to have another surgery because I don't have the money for it. But bottomline, it was worth losing 120 lbs. As with anything else, we overeaters can mess up the weight loss by cheating the program. I have not lost as much the last 6 months because I have resorted back to some of my old habits. After I get this problem corrected, I am going back to step one to lose the rest of my weight. I am worth it and so are you!

  8. Something similar happened to me recently. I have lost 112 lbs. still need to lose 75. I went for a fill last Wed. I had some restriction before the fill but weight loss had slowed and I was getting hungry between meals. So I went for the fill. After the fill I had no restriction. Going back this Wed. to find out what's going on. It scares me. I have no idea why this happened.
  9. I just had my 9th fill yesterday. I had some restriction but thought it wasn't enough because I was not losing much. So, I had the fill. Now I have less restriction than I had before. Actually, I don't have any restriction feeling at all. I am scared that something is wrong like a leak or I have stretched my pouch. But since I had some restriction before the fill I don't think it could be stretched. Help! Has anyone had this happen to them?
  10. Great job, Hestie. You look fabulous. We have similar stories. I had my surgery on Sept. 27, 2007. Our journey began about the same time. I have lost 111 lbs. However, I have only lost about 10 in the last six months. That worries me a little but I am very happy with my decision to have this surgery. I still have 75 lbs to lose. I went for a fill yesterday because I didn't think I had enough restriction. Well, today I have no restriction after the fill. This is the first time that has happened. Have you ever had this experience?
  11. I have spent the last hour googling for someone who is experiencing what I am. I found you. I was feeling the exact same way. Went for a fill today but wasn't really sure I should. I had only lost 2 1/2 lbs in six weeks. Got my fill but I feel not restriction right now. It scares me. I had my surgery 1 and a half years ago. Have lost 111 lbs.
