Why is this part awkward? I get more attention. But now men want to date me instead of just stare at me. I don’t know how I TRULY feel about this framily. Help.

I'm just guessing, but, could it be because you're the same person just viewed differently now. Its a shame it takes just losing weight for men to finally see the real you, to see the beauty you've always been?! Unfortunately, being over weight comes with feeling insecure (most not all of us feel this way) and with insecurity comes shyness and awkwardness. Give yourself time to focus on you, the dating will fall into place when YOU are ready!

Female hormones can make your gums more sensitive. My doctor told me sometimes pregnant women have this issue because of the increase in hormones. I had this happen when I was taking progesterone, but I wouldn't be surprised if estrogen can do it too. Also I have bleeding, pale gums when I'm iron deficient. So something to watch for...

I agree.. you definitely get to be more picky about who you share your energy with. I've shared that I had WLS with one man I was going to give a chance to. But then he said you don't look like you were big, then he wanted to go on an eating binge date because he says he's a "foodie" and the last straw was him saying he wanted to go out for drinks. I already told him I never drank before my bypass. Definitely not about to start now... He told me sleep apnea came from getting up during the night to drink water.
So to me, these things were deal breakers because I already told him what it was. So nope... no thanks. I passed and told myself that I shouldn't have to tell grown people how to act. Google is free..it takes a minute to search bariatric surgeries and sleep apnea. We deserve to be respected regardless of size.
Long story short, I'm getting lots of attention now. But they need to bring the right energy and mentality. You have the right to be picky.

This is the first time my gums have gotten this bloody. Post op day 3 my menstrual started. And I didn’t notice any bleeding gums or teeth pain because I couldn’t eat anything anyway. But now it’s obvious. Once I get an update from my dentist I will let you guys know what’s up. I haven’t been taking natural forms of vitamin c because it’s too sweet but I guess tablet/pill for will have to suffice.

I agree. I have problems eating chicken breast the first time around let alone reheating it. Actually a good piece of steak goes down easier than chicken for me!

It's not just you! I have read that you should avoid the microwave as it dries food out making it harder for your stomach to break down. Its just a matter of how dry the food is, so maybe add a liquid when you can, or cover your items like chicken etc with a damp paper towel?

I can reheat lean ground beef no problems. But steak..... that's a big NO. Chicken too. If it's rubbery at all..nope.
No matter how much I chew it, it seems to go down better if the meat is shredded and in some kind of sauce. Texture is a big factor for me to determine if it's going to stay down. At 5 months out, I seem to handle most foods better now.
Reheating everything else has been just fine. But I did read on a few Bariatric websites, somewhere while researching surgery pre-op, to avoid reheating food in a microwave. I told my nutritionist what I read, and she also said like people here, that she'd never heard that before. But that info is out there, somewhere. I just don't remember where.

I personally would check out BulkSupplements.com. I've been using their non flavored whey protein isolate, calcium and a few others. Its the easiest absorbed and metabolized at a reasonable price. It was recommended to me by a few professional body builders I know personally. It truly has no flavor, I put it in several of my meals each day.
Plus, the company promotes the following which I appreciate (hope this helps also if you subscribe you save although you don't have to):
    Pure Raw Ingredients
No Additives. No flavorings. No Fillers. Just pure, bulk powders
    FDA Inspected Facility
cGMP, FDA registered, regularly inspected manufacturing facility
    Lab Tested for Purity
Each supplement is tested by a 3rd party laboratory
    Transparency
COAs are available for all of their products upon request

I often used to get tender gums & a little bleeding with my menstrual cycle. I thought I was weird so am glad you have the same thing. But I wonder if you have developed some gum disease. A B12 deficiency can cause bleeding gums too. Have you had a recent blood test (though can’t recall vitamin C being included in our usual blood tests).
Glad you’re seeing your dentist soon.

I've had peridontal disease for years (since before I had WLS), so yes, I've had those symptoms, but for me they aren't WLS-related. I'm not Sure those types of symptoms that WOULD be WLS-related, but then, I don't know.. I know lack of vitamin C can cause bleeding gums, too. Just check with your dentist.

I find a private place so I don't spread my negative energy onto other people around me. Once I spread my negative energy I have found it takes longer to move forward. I like using forums like this and reddit and read about other peoples situations helps me relax.

I stretch and do some body weight exercises like wall pushups. I think about the positive things that I have accomplished in life, and imagine the new things that I will get to accomplish once all of this excess weight is off of my precious body. Sending big hugs! We are all pulling for you ?
