theProcess got a reaction from Jreal in July 2023 buddies?Hey everybody, had my surgery on Tues the 11th and came home yesterday. Getting the fluids down is tough and the gas pain is worse lol! Any suggestions besides the walking and gas x chewables?! How long before this gas goes away lol!? -
theProcess reacted to CarmenG in EXCITED!Just a lil rave... As of this morning, I am officially down my first 50 lbs! I had a 3-week stall 2 weeks after my surgery. I had issues with my skin, with constipation, and this horrible stall. Because it's a revision, my weight loss is incredibly s-l-o-w (compared to virgin surgeries). I was so disappointed, having buyer's remorse, and all that. I've only lost 20 lbs in 45 days, but altogether (including my pre-op dieting) it's 50 whole pounds since May 11th!

theProcess got a reaction from BeanitoDiego in Curious About Post-Op DaysI’m almost 3 weeks post op, and the most important thing I’ve learned is not to have back to back days of puréed beans! Lol the gas pain sat me down for a whole day. I’m in puréed tuna and ice cold water has been my game changer. I had a hard time getting my liquids in, I guess it was all those flavored and zero sugar drinks, my tongue felt burned out and I got dehydrated. Once I just did straight ice cold water, I could sip easily and get my 64oz in pretty easily(took all day) but I got very hydrated. I think I’m over the hump, and soft foods start next week. Lookout Babybel cheese, I’m ready heheheh! -
theProcess reacted to billho in Ahem... 100 lbs down.Progress photos: First pic at 273 lbs (I had lost about 10 lbs before I took a photo), and second pic at 184 lbs.

theProcess reacted to £€@h in Curious About Post-Op DaysI’m almost a month out of surgery and I had little pain. The hardest thing for me has been not chugging liquids. I know I want water, but a sip here and there doesn’t quite quench my thirst. Nor do I have time to sip every two mins! This week I went for a two mile walk in the hills and realized my energy is way off. I had to stop and have a sip every five mins it seemed.

theProcess reacted to Jonathan Carlson in Curious About Post-Op DaysI was fine for the most part. Very little pain. Kind of bored with the liquid diet, but so is everyone! It goes by fast!

theProcess reacted to CarolineLittle in Curious About Post-Op DaysWaking up I was in moderate pain, had nausea and needed to burp! Meds helped and I was able to get a burp out. I slept most of surgery day, I was extremely tired.
Gas pain was never bad for me. Didn't get it often and when I did it was only fleeting. Pain was never bad, meds manage discomfort well.
Drinking didn’t hurt, having to take small sips is annoying but it gets easier quickly. I preferred warm liquids so drank a lot of broth.
A body pillow helped me side sleep comfortably at home.
I was fatigued in the early does and again around 10 days, I slept a lot. Nausea also returned temporarily.
Recovery is a bit rough but not terrible. Just part of the process. Best of luck!

theProcess reacted to TRClark23 in My Gastric Sleeve JourneyCongrats on getting your surgery! I know what you mean about the liquids!
The best for me was the sabra hummus and the mashed potatoes.
It’s kind of a pain trying to keep up with the vitamins, trying to eat 2-3 times a day (they told me to eat 5 small meals a deal, how am I going to get my fluids in if I eat 5 times a day and can’t drink for 30 minutes before and after, that’s 5 hours a day I can’t drink! ?)
I’m glad that my information is helpful to someone!

theProcess got a reaction from TRClark23 in My Gastric Sleeve Journey@TRClark23 so grateful for your updates, it’s keep motivated thru this little rough patch I’m going thru. My surgery was on July 11th, and I’m about to go to puréed food on Wednesday. My mouth is literally burned out from liquids, I’m barely reaching my intake goals. I can’t wait to try a quesadilla lol! -
theProcess reacted to TRClark23 in My Gastric Sleeve JourneyI haven't posted an update in awhile, but there hasn't really been much to report.
I tried sliced deli roast beef last week and it was too soon, my stomach really hurt for about 45 minutes, then stopped. I guess I'm just not ready to digest beef at the moment. I had pretty good success with turkey though. This week, I tried a chicken quesadilla and managed to take 2-3 bites and was okay.
I had a bit of a stall "weight loss" wise from the 13th through the 20th, but got on the scale this morning and was at 325lbs, so I managed to lose 5 more pounds since the 12th, bringing my weight loss since surgery to 27lbs, 60lbs since I started this journey.
I'm probably going to avoid the other forums and topics as this page as they seem to be pretty cliquish. I'm going to continue posting in this journal because I enjoy it and think it's fun to keep a history about what I'm going through.
My next doctors appointment is in four days, so I'll probably post another update then.
