omrhsn got a reaction from DaisyChainOz in I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)My wife bought me a custom-made suit as an early birthday gift and it fits me perfectly. The first photo was taken on our wedding day 11 years ago and the other two were taken yesterday with the new suit.
Wedding suit
vs new suit 11 years after and 2 and half year post WLS. I need to buy new shoes as well since my old shoes are too big now

omrhsn got a reaction from DaisyChainOz in I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary (time flies) last week and we snapped some photos before going out for lunch at a Brazilian steakhouse here in Kuala Lumpur. Right is me on our wedding day (I was around 130 kg then) and left is me now (74.5 kg). My wife said we should take new wedding photos for fun.

omrhsn got a reaction from DaisyChainOz in Oh Happy Day! Finally hit my goalJust came back from a short holiday with my kids and woke up to a nice surprise this morning after retuning to my work place. I had to call my wife right away to share the good news. I'm officially below my goal weight of 70 kg with a "NORMAL" BMI. I was worried I was not going to hit the goal before the second surgery-versary in January 24 but I did it.
Playing on all the rides in Legoland theme park and chasing my kids on the beach must have helped me lose the last stubborn 1 kg ?.
Here is a before and after. Left was a few months before the surgery (pants size 52") and right was two days ago (pants size 29"). Look at those thighs! You never realize how huge you were until you compare the before and after photos.

omrhsn reacted to ShooterInTheSix in What a difference a year makes...I had my RnY surgery on Sept 14, 2023 and took the picture on the left the day before wearing 48" jeans and a 4xl shirt. 12 months and -130lbs later, I'm wearing a 36" waist jeans and an XL technical shirt. Even though I'm wearing them, I hold those jeans up every time I put them on and say, 'There's no way these are going to fit' as I slide them up with ease; they just look so...small. Ideally I'd still like to lose about another 50, but we'll see where I end up.

omrhsn reacted to SpartanMaker in Please indulge me, I need to brag a bit...Just finished a Half Marathon in ~2:10. Not too shabby for an old man that had a total knee replacement and open heart surgery, and that used to weight >330 lbs a couple of years ago.
That's all, thanks for indulging me! ?

omrhsn got a reaction from Mspretty86 in I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)Here is another update. One year and 2 months out from MGB. On the left is a photo of me around 2013 that I found while organizing my laptop folders vs me this morning.

omrhsn got a reaction from Mspretty86 in I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)First photo was 1 month before WLS (Dec 2021), the other photos were taken a week after my 2nd surgery-versary 8 Feb 2024. I noticed that I don't have any full body shots before the surgery. I was really conscious about my thighs and how big my lower body was. Not anymore haha

I would like to lose 6-11 more. Down from XXX to M clothes! You all look fabulous! I love seeing people’s before and after. Pictures like these were one of the biggest influences on whether or not to have sleeve surgery! Thank you to all for your inspiration!!!!

Great job everyone!

omrhsn got a reaction from BabySpoons in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstIt doesn't get any better than this. You are not alone. I was about to write a post about the exact same thing. I was on a 2-week holiday in Thailand and the same thing happened to me. I was 70 kg on the day we started our trip and now I'm 66.5 kg three weeks after. I lost like 3.5 kg or so which is amazing. Not sure if that is a water loss or what but I'm happy haha. I can't say the same about my wife though. She is blaming me for gaining 3 kg on the same trip.
We ate like "tourists" and tried the many wonderful Thai dishes and made sure to keep hydrated. We did a lot of walking, a bit of swimming and ate a lot of fruits so that might have helped burn the calories from all the coconut milk rich dishes we tried there. I was burning more calories during the trip and more active according to my Apple Watch.
The same thing happened to me on a similar previous trip so I can totally relate.

omrhsn reacted to ms.sss in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstthis is not the first time, but it happened again...and i think it's happened often enough now for me to consider it a "normal" thing: I. Lost. Weight. On. Vacation.
it still fascinates me when this happens because the norm prior to wls was to GAIN weight during vacay. Every. Single Time. (even when i was not overweight)
Went on vacay 20 days ago, and came back this afternoon. I did not count calories, track food, weigh myself, nor perform a lick of exercise (besides walking) all that time. And lo and behold, i lost 3.1 lbs. which is very unexpected, because me and Mr. basically ate and drank ourselves across a good part of europe, and i fully expected the scale to show a good sized weight gain when i got home (he says HE gained almost 4 lbs). honestly i felt like i ate (and drank) more in the past 3-ish weeks than i ever have since WLS 5+ years ago...but maybe i am mistaken? maybe i should have tracked my food intake after all...
anyway, yay! i may just have to fully accept that i got this maintenance thing down pat. i didn't think about calories or portion sizes or whatever...just ate (and drank) what i felt like, in amounts i knew i could handle.
yay!

omrhsn reacted to LindsayT in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstBeing kind to myself. All the physical things like fitting in seats, standing, clothes... All FANTASTIC! It is such a wonderful feeling to be able to do all the things that were challenging before. But being kind to myself. Remembering all my body has been through when I was at my heaviest, how I got there, my decision to change my like, and the journey to where I am now. What a story!
I look in the mirror now and see a woman who got her life back and I owe it to her be kind. Does she like the saggy skin and no boobs? No, but they tell a story of overcoming and personal redemption. I'm kind to her on bad days when all she wants is chips and brownies. I'm kind to her when she gains a couple pounds. And I celebrate with her when she loses those couple pounds and gets back on track. My weirdest non scale victory is to love the woman staring back at me despite everything else.
