Me too! My surgery is on Monday

Today marked my one month sleeve-versary! I’ve lost from 1-3 inches throughout my body. The scale has been stuck for a while for me. My nutritionist told me I’m not getting in enough protein so it’ll be hard to support fat loss. I like focusing on fat loss instead of weight loss. My greatest struggle is getting enough fiber to support healthy bowels. I get bloated sometimes. Still navigating through learning my hunger and full cues. My scars are almost invisible! I’m so impressed with the overall surgery. I’m looking forward to more consistent results.

This heartburn is unreal.. what helps it?

Well, I’m on day 3 post op. I feel like I’ve been doing very well so far. Pain is little to none. No nausea or vomiting. Today, I’m struggling with swallowing. My throat is sore and irritated from the anesthesia. I have no voice and it hurts to swallow. Help!

Oh, also… the gas the first day after surgery is unreal! GasX and walking came in super handy…

I had my Gastric Bypass surgery in August 2019, surgery was a breeze but have suffered with sickness and nausea for the last year but due to Covid haven’t been able to see my surgeon. Was prescribed Odensetron which helps somewhat. But regardless of the sickness and not being able to keep foods down I do not regret having it done at all. Have lost over 140lbs . I am not where I want to be however I am not where I used to be!!! I am 7 months post op RNY!! I did not see how big I was until after I lost weight! I mean I am still trying to take it all in! I am blessed and I feel so much better!

1 year anniversary since surgery! I’ve had a few bumps in the road and am actually in the process of trying to gain a little weight (under my surgeons supervision of course) but I am still happy with my decision to have WLS and have no regrets! ❤️

Im positive it was all for you. Please tell me you wore a bikini with a white t-shirt over it and shook the water out of your hair in slow motion.

Love this! Lol. Im soooooo tempted to look around for it now... BUT I will practice this new found self control that wls has given me.

Maybe ask your mom to be the thoughtful and prepared one with a ring gaurd on hand so when you “tell her” that he popped the question she can offer up the ring gaurd so you can wear it for a while safely without losing before you have it sized.

My PCP removed Morbidly obese from my diagnosis list. I am now just Obese, and my HA1Cis now Normal instead of prediabetic

Now that you mention it……, I often forget these days and it’s not really a big deal because it doesn’t smell like really bad BO. One of the reasons why I forget is because usually I am reminded by the BO smell while I get dressed and I don’t have that anymore.

Cutting toenails no longer feels like an Olympic event. Also, not eyeballing your parking job wondering if you can get into your car... that's a big one for me.

I bought a pair of size 8 jeans. I did a happy dance in the fitting room.

oh my goodness - yesterday was a big NSV for me - I went on a 10 mile bike ride! I still can't believe I rode that far! My legs were jelly at the end and I am sore today, but it was soooooo fun! Being on my bike makes me feel like a happy kid.

few years back.... I guess I was about 46ish or 47ish.... and going through a divorce. I was asked out by my youngest son's friends.... Who were 20 years younger.... hehehehe
One night i found myself in a strip club with my oldest son's best friends dad (i went there with) on my right and my youngest son's father on the left (who's huge in the church)..... could not make this up

Feeling more confident about my picture being taken at family functions, holidays, etc. I used to actually hide when the cameras came out because I feared of my pics being shown to everyone to see how big I was.
Not being embarrassed to eat in front of others. When I was bigger, I didn't like to eat in front of anyone because in my mind they were making fun of me for being so fat.

Not super weird, but totally made my day. A very attractive male stranger commented that I was “ripped” and asked if I do CrossFit. ?? FYI, I do not CrossFit, but I do a variety of exercise frequently.

Tonight my husband invited me to go into the hot tub with him and it was the first time in a long time that once I got in it didn’t overflow half of the water.

I got a call on Friday that they had a cancellation and my surgery has been moved up!! My liver shrinking diet starts today bc I’m having surgery 6/7!!!!!
