Beth1975 reacted to insta_adventurer in Food Before and After PhotosSoft Proteins, yes.
I used my own recipe.
2 eggs
15oz part skim ricotta
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1tsp ground garlic
1tsp black pepper
Dash of basil
1tsp Italian seasoning
1tsp salt
Mix all these well.
Spoon 1 to 2 teaspoons into each spot on a mini muffin baking pan that you’ve sprayed with Pam.
Sprinkle a touch of reduced fat mozzarella on top of each.
Bake 20 minutes at 375.
I’m thinking of making a bariatric cooking/recipe blog. I love cooking and being inventive and really want to stay within my approved foods. So it may be neat!

Beth1975 reacted to Matt Z in It finally happened. Onederland! My heaviest weight was 370.
In 2010 I had the band installed (such a mistake, waste of time, money and effort IMO)
March 10th, 2018 at my Pre-Surgical check in I was 310.
March 21st, 2018 at check in for surgery I was 294.4. I had the band removed and revised to the bypass.
Today, January 23rd, 2019. 308 days after surgery... I hit a number that I haven't seen in more than 20 years Onederland.
I'm down 95 lbs since surgery, 110.6 lbs from pre-surgical. And a staggering 170.6 lbs from my heaviest weight.
I need to thank so many people that if I tried, I'd forget someone and then we'd start with the hard feelings.
So I'll go with this.
Thank you.
If you've helped me through this in any way, shape, or form, Thank you.

Beth1975 reacted to Healthy_life in Walking as exercise after surgeryI was a true couch potato pre surgery. Committing to exercise was a necessary evil that I was not thrilled about. Exercise/activity does not mean you have to step inside a gym. Start slow. Do it even when you don't want to. It gets easier if you make it a habit. You will find you are stronger than you give yourself credit for.
Use your activity/exercise to replace. stress/emotional eating, head hunger or eating out of boredom. Make it a time to process all the changes and mental battles with weight loss. This is the time you carve out for yourself. Don't let anyone interrupt it.
Get zumba videos online and dance your butt off walk and make it about the destination. Take photos. As you get stronger and have more energy challenge yourself to do more. Plan a hike with beautiful views. Make exercise an adventure and not a chore. Buy exercise equipment at a thrift store. (stationary bike, dumbbells or a treadmill) Find your inner bad@ss! You never know where this journey will take you. Who knows how you will feel about exercise six months or a year from now. Many changes coming your way.

Beth1975 reacted to MassMom in Onederland!I’m 18 weeks post bypass. For the first time in more years than I can remember- I am in onederland! I feel so much better now. More energy, easier to exercise, not as self conscious. I am thankful for this opportunity to lead a healthier life. -
Beth1975 reacted to KimTriesRNY in Please help me, I have terrible regret RNYThis is the problem with seeking validation from strangers to decide if you are making the right decision for your health. If you had doubts about following through with surgery you should have discussed with your surgical team or if you were not mentally prepared then it was not the right time for you to follow through with it.
Of your only negative side effect so far from your surgery is fear regarding what has happened to others, stop reading about it. You don’t know these people. You don’t know what their diets were. You don’t know if they are compliant with their vitamin regimen or not. You do not know if they are regularly following up with the appropriate medical providers, or if they waited until there was a problem to see someone.
Stop reading the negative crap and put yourself in a positive frame of mind.
No one is going to do a complicated reversal procedure unless you are deathly ill, and regret is not a life threatening emergency. You are an adult that made a decision, now pull yourself up and remember why you wanted this.
I hope you find the inner peace you need to enjoy your journey with no regrets, truly.
