Hey ? how is everyone doing that had surgery in July I’ll be 3 months post op October 18th I’m down 30 pounds from my heights weight 287 I’ve been between 258 -260 for about a week now...I don’t know about any one else but I still have some cravings and hunger...my sleeve is still pretty tight and I honestly never ate to be full before surgery and it’s the same now I literally take 2 or 3 bites off everything and that’s it’s...i can get through about a liter of water a day hoping to be back to gallon within a year...I’m still doing one protein shake a day I really should do 2 but I sometimes think I’m lactose now my stomach I kinda sensitive to dairy products...I’m still struggling with gym I’m still shy to work out in front of other people and I still don’t have confidence...some days are better than most especially having depression..I knew the surgery wouldn’t cure depression so I still go to therapy once a month..I still haven’t been transparent with my friends and family about having vsg and I don’t even think i need to I went through this entire process by myself and I just can’t handle the negatively..

Im 2 months post op, and I been feeling kind of depressed lately. I thought that by loosing weight I wouldn’t miss food. Socialization revolves around food always, going out to dinner or getting together with the family on Sunday involves food. Almost every major holiday is enhanced with a traditional menu. I feel that I cannot participate in a ritual in the same way. But the worst part is that no one understands. And I feel terrible watching everyone enjoying and asking if I would like some and I having to say “no thank you” because I know if I eat something that is not on my menu will make me feel very sick. I really hope this gets better I really miss gathering the family. I prefer to stay home every time the family reunites. I really feel lonely in this journey.

I'm curious about something. You keep saying 128 oz of water. Doesn't that depend on your size? I feel like that is soooooooo much. My NUT recommended 64-80 oz.
I would never leave the bathroom.

Yeah, I understand the depression thing... Sadly, sitting 83 lbs from my pre-op surgery check in, 143 lbs from my max weight ... and it's still hanging around.

There are PLENTY of calorie dense foods that are good for you, Dates for example are SUPER calorie dense. You can totally get 1200-1500 calories with very healthy options and minimum carbs.

Don't be afraid to call your nutritionist or surgical team for advice, that's what they are there for!

4 - 5 bottles of what size? if it's 12 oz... that's like half what you need.
Why are you capping yourself at 1000 calories? Was that advised by your nutritionist? Have you followed up with them? If your energy levels have dropped that drastically, you REALLY should reach out to your team and follow up with them, there could be some issues they need to address. Always best to keep them in the loop with problems of this nature!

Yes, it's normal. Yes eating more can help.

Are you tracking your BMR as well as all your intake?
Are you getting upwards of 128oz of Water? I can't stress enough how important adequate water intake is to weight loss. The human body REQUIRES water to process fat. So if you aren't meeting your baseline needs... fat removal is going to greatly suffer.

Are you doing any sort of exercise?

Oh yeah. I'm 2 months out myself and all the water I drink means I stay in the bathroom. I also get up several times at night.

So I weighed 380 and my wife is like 300 pounds. Now i’m 167 pounds. She really wasn’t supportive of my surgery. She was making comments about me calling me skin and bones man.She also bankrupted our family spending over 5000 dollars on a video game because I lost weight. She has no interest in me emotionally or physically.I am only posting a pic to get honest feedback.Believe me I can handle it.She has made me feel like I’m very unattractive even though I think I look ok.I have decided to divorce her because I can’t take getting crapped on anymore?I don’t regret my surgery even though I’m getting divorced.I hate to say it but she really made makes questions if I am hideous now.I can handle blunt truth.Have any of you had issues after a bypass too or other weight loss tool?

I feel a pressure in my upper chest when I’m full. My family’s joke is that I’ve had “one bite too many” as I frequently get the hiccups after eating.
