Yes, my surgery went well. Came home the next day, little gas, no vomiting or nausea. Day 2 pain was a 5, Day 3 the pain is a 2 and more discomfort than anything. I'm trying to get my fluids in. But everytime I take a sip, it hurts!!! Ughhhh

Same here, when I drink I get a sharp pain inside. I drank at least 10 ounces yesterday and still starving!!!

Same for me. I spent 1 day in the hospital and my surgery was Monday 8/13. I'm trying to at least get in 20 oz today. Truely I starving but scared to even try and cheat on this 2 week liquid diet...lop

Hey everyone
Well I have done it. I took the leap of faith and now I’m on the other side.
I got home this afternoon after 1 day stay. Lots of burping and passing gas. I’m so full for tea spoons of puréed chicken in broth , my stomach did feel sore because of it. Sipping water through the day and trying to walk.
And also my focusing on my breathing and making sure I temperature myself.

I was so scared before the surgery and so nervous , and now I’m at home trying to get through the first few days and slowly adjusting to this new life.

Also I had a different name on here , few people managed to find me that I didn’t want for them to found out so I changed it.

Anyway I’m trying to focus on the things, it took me about 1,5 years to get here so it’s a long time coming.

@ Elle.....I am also the 13th. 2 week preop diet is not too bad now that I am a week into it. Not looking forward to my weekend liquid diet. What state are you in?

Had my surgery on the 6th. Despite a cheat day due to stress, my liver was small and pretty clean.
But let me tell you... GAS PAINS ARE NO JOKE.
Was in hospital until about 5pm today, pain is not fully gone but alas, was not prescribed anything but liquid tylenol, anti-nausea, and gabapentin. Pharmacy is out of the anti spasmodic.

Now that I am home and had some deep sleep, the coughing has started. With 5 incisions and gas pain and nausea, this is hell.

All well, since I pretty much have not been drinking, going to try to now. Maybe that plus the meds will also quiet the cough some.

My sleeve surgery is on Monday the 13th! Starting my two day clear liquids only today! The two week pre op diet was difficult mentally more than physically but I am so excited to be moving to the next stage and so nervous for surgery

Monday is the day for lost of us?. Anybody feeling weak like I am. I have no energy at all. 13 days on this liquid protein diet is no joke. Tomorrow will be the last day before surgery. Then two more weeks after surgery ??‍♀️. I’m still excited about this process but very very tired.

Well, tomorrow’s the big day!
RNY bypass first thing in the morning
Today is day three of my liquid diet. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I’m not hungry, I just want to chew something and Jello just doesn’t cut it.
I was planning on sleeping the day away so tomorrow would come and I could just get this over with, but my back just isn’t going to let that happen. So, I guess I’ll try and keep busy.

After many last-minute hurdles to jump through the last few weeks (as late as Friday there was still uncertainty - I discovered on Thursday I had to have a CPAP machine at the hospital - so I had one day (Friday) to acquire one. Also PCP only cleared me for surgery last Wednesday (had to get cardiac clearance after a last minute echocardiogram) - surgery is a go for tomorrow - fingers crossed! I'll try to post updates...

Just stopping in to wish everyone having surgery with me tomorrow the best of luck. Hope everything goes well for you’ll. See you guys on the other side.

I’m in the home stretch! RNY is 8/13 and my 3 day liquid diet begins Friday. In the meantime I’m making sure I have everything I’ll need (drinks/meds) on hand and stuff that my hubby can prepare for himself too. He is almost 3 months RNY postop and now it’s my turn ;)
