chunkymonkey123 reacted to JustSJ in June SurgeriesHi everyone. I had my sleeve on June 3rd. My weight loss is slower than many people, but the scale is still moving. I do cheat here and there, so I'm happy with my progress.
I am hungry a LOT. Sometimes I attribute it to head hunger, but often it's physical stomach rumbling. Drinking water helps a little bit, but not always and never for very long. That's when my restriction tool saves me. I can only eat a small amount, where in the past, I would have stuffed myself.
Still feel like this is one of the best decisions I have ever made!

chunkymonkey123 reacted to pmorgan315 in June SurgeriesSo my surgery was on May 26th but I am following those posts about both May and June surgeries. As of today I am down a total of 65 pounds and have lost a total of 45 inches all over. I am down from a Size 20 pant (that fit tight) to 14 and 16 pants! I now have the stamina to walk and run and am now doing reformer Pilates three days a week. As far as food, I am still not hungry and do not have cravings. However, that creates its own challenges as it makes it hard for me to motivate to eat or to figure out what to eat. As we all know we have to eat in order to lose. I have gotten to the point where I now have my staple “go to” foods always on hand! I get so much inspiration from reading everyone’s posts!

chunkymonkey123 reacted to PhenomenalWoman in June SurgeriesMy surgery was 6/21/21 and I am down 54.8 pounds since then. The most thrilling things so far have been 1) flying and not needing a seat belt extender and 2) my tennis shoe becoming untied when I was walking and I was able to bend over to tie it right there without finding a bench to sit on to do so! Excited to see what is ahead in this journey!

chunkymonkey123 reacted to Iluvbats in June SurgeriesI'm not allowed to have anything other than protein shakes, waters, jello and sugar free popsicles. The one thing I am surprised about (and I can't understand why I'm surprised) is how hungry I am! I'm on day 5 post-op and each day is better. I'm really looking forward to being healthy!

chunkymonkey123 reacted to Kap143 in Surgery yesterday- my experienceI had a sleeve done yesterday, late morning, and I am about 24 hrs out.
My doc put me on gabapentin the day prior, and I had some dilautid in recovery. SO much LESS pain than I anticipated. I was about to drink water and broth all afternoon and night with minimal discomfort. Walked twice up and down the halls... today am feeling well enough to get out of bed alone use the bathroom and walk without assistance. Had a tiny (1/2) dose of some narcotic overnight, more as a precaution, otherwise have been comfortable with Tylenol and torodol.
Good luck to all the upcoming surgeries!

chunkymonkey123 got a reaction from newyorklady20 in On the FenceHI everyone,
I have been pondering weight loss surgery for a couple years now . I am currently enrolled in a program at my local Kaiser and am about to finish the nutrition classes which are required to qualify for surgery. I am 5'6 and weigh 242 lbs. I've always been the chunky girl not too big but definitely not skinny. I guess I am just scared that I won't be able to keep up with the requirements of the surgery such as living the healthy lifestyle or committing to exercise 5 times a week. Also I am scared of the excess skin.
I don't know if surgery is the way to go but at the same time I don't want to keep gaining weight. I am pre-diabetic and have a fatty liver I know this may be the beginning of more severe problems to come.
Any input is welcome :)
