tallysfunny got a reaction from ouroborous in "nice Abs!"Brothah...you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm not a fan of marriage as it pertains to today. People settle so often in life...I did and now I am happily divorced. But anyone's opinion of you, your choices or life...is none of your business. When you characterize them into that...what they say can't take up real estate in your mind. Tell them to piss off and enjoy your life. You have been hiding due to your weight long enough! Go and live!!

tallysfunny got a reaction from fran71 in So Frustrated With Scheduling! It's red tape. I have friends and family that had to jump through huge hoops and they had cancer. It's not a cancer thing or an obesity thing. It's a money thing. We cost them money being sick or in need of using our insurance. So hence the rigamorole.

tallysfunny got a reaction from fran71 in So Frustrated With Scheduling!I know what you mean. I was told get the psych consult done and we will give you a date. I did that...now it's you need your GI consult, fitness consult and bariatric PCP appointment completed before a date can be given. I'm like wtf?! It's incredibly frustrating. Hang tight and all will be well.

tallysfunny got a reaction from Tammy310 in Support Vs. Going It AloneSometimes sweetheart we have to do what is right for us even when so many push back on it. While I do not agree that they are not supporting you, you are also going to have to live with the fallout of not telling them. Which will create more stress on you....not telling them and them getting royally pissed about it or telling them now and getting it over and done with?
I must ask, how exactly did your father put a stop to it last time?
It's your life, so you must do with it as you will, but just make sure that you are at peace with whatever decision you make. It will mean one les thing for you to stress over after surgery. Cuz the good Lord knows you are gonna be going through enough changes and chaos after surgery.
Hugs, take care and feel free to contact me if you need support.

tallysfunny got a reaction from Tammy310 in Who Knows About Your WlsI don't care who knows. And I don't care what anyone's opinion is either. The way I look at it...opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one and they all stink. If you can't support me, then I don't need to hear it. Besides, other peoples opinions about me, my choices, etc are NONE of my business.

tallysfunny reacted to lmp817 in 4 Months OutSo I don't notice the difference most of the time until I put on clothes that no longer fit. However when I look in the mirror I still look at myself and see the fat girl. I am a nurse and have had to finally go get new scrubs because the old ones were falling off me. When I did this I thought I only went down one size and no I went down two. I am 4 months and a week post op. i have lost 72 pounds and so close to being in the 100 mark. I have struggled at times with eating. I have not had any trouble eating anything. Nothing makes me sick to my stomach or har the runs. Sometimes I wonder of this is all really true and if they really did the surgery. And then I take the one bite to many and it hurts. At that point I know it is really sleeved. I dance hula and have fr about a year. I danced it at 281 pounds and am still doing it now at 210. We had a big performance this past weekend and I really noticed for the first time I am skinner. I have to day this is definitely a journey I thought I was ready for but realized that it has so many challenges that I wasn't expecting. Or example gettin my water In when I'm working out or dancing and am completely thirsty and water is not helping it. So some things I have learned.
• don't overeat at any time it hurts real bad
• work out and it helps with the skin mine is going in not fast but it is.
• don't do it the wrong way. Follow your surgeons plans and diet they have to for a reason. I have a friend that did the sleeve and then took diet pills to loose it faster and didn't work out. But followed the diet and lost 150 pounds in 10 month but has a ton of excess skin.
• no matter what you see the people around you notice even if they don't say anything.
• the best feeling is know that this saved the rest of your life.
• when you put on clothes 2 sizes smaller you will feel amazing. Especially when you haven't been that size in years.
I hope this helps some one. I read a lot of post on here and don't respond a lot but I have gotten a lot of positive feelings form them. And know that I have done the right thing and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

tallysfunny got a reaction from lessofmeismore in Minor Set BackGlad to hear all is well. The hardest part of exercise is starting. So just have your cannon ball moment and get to walking. Everything you do exercise wise...do it. It's only going to help you. And I know we are here to lose pounds, but so long as I am losing something (pounds, inches, emotional hang ups, etc) then who cares?! Progress is progress regardless of the increment used.
Take care of you!!

You can see the difference and get a lot of support in the process. Also...are you tracking your measurements? Even if the scale isn't moving....doesn't mean your body isn't still changing. Hugs. You will get there.
