Trcyprkr70 reacted to StreetGlide in Looking for guidance & support.Hi everyone. I was sleeved 02/2018. I lost all my weight and hovered around 172 for a few months. I had a death in the family and I fell into some really bad old habits. I take full responsibility for my actions. I have gained 24 lbs since my lowest weight of 168. I got on the scale this morning at 192. I stopped exercising, I have been eating horribly, and it seems with certain foods and at certain times it feels like I can eat a full meal.
I remember in the beginning when four ounces was a lot. I can eat way more then that I have been over the past few months. Tomorrow I am looking to change things around and go back to the basics. Unfortunately I am not on good terms with my surgical team or nutritionist. Although I had an amazing surgeon, I was double billed for the surgery a year after I had it and my insurance wouldn't pay. They told me a year later a second surgeon was present in my surgery yet refuse to release my medical records.
Has anyone successfully lost weight after gaining some back after being sleeved? How do I know if I stretched my sleeve? I am determined to drop 17-20 lbs to get back down to weight that I was. I just need some guidance and support. Thanks for listening.

Trcyprkr70 reacted to S@ssen@ch in Looking for guidance & support.I'm sorry to hear your struggling. I know from experience how life can throw you curve balls and before you know it, you find yourself picking up bad habits do the detriment of your health.
First, you've recognized the problem. That's a GOOD thing! Now, get back on the program. Log your food. Get your water in. Start exercising, even if it's just walking.
I'm only a couple of months after you in terms of surgical dates. I know that I can eat more than 4 ounces sometimes. It depends on the time of day and what I'm eating. I'm told that it's normal to be able to eat more over time. I'd estimate that at most, I can eat 1 cup. I find this OK and I'm not concerned that I've stretched my sleeve.
I no longer have a relationship with my surgeon. It wasn't bad blood or anything, I am no longer in the state where I had my surgery. So, my primary doctor monitors my labs and I have a GI doc that helps me with anything sleeve related.
If you're truly worried you've stretched your sleeve or if you feel you need the collaboration of a bariatric team, I think I'd start with my primary doc. Sometimes surgeons are unwilling to take on a case that someone else started, something about "cleaning up someone else's mess." (or so I'm told-I'm a nurse case manager and have LOTS of experience with that) So, a self-referral may not be effective. Use the network you have to get in the door: your other doctors.
Good luck! You got this!

Trcyprkr70 reacted to DEZ1975 in Dating Again...eek!Time to start dating again. I've been asked out a few times recently and have been too self conscious to say yes, even though apparently the guys didn't mind the fact that I needed to lose 70 lbs. So, from here on out I'm saying yes to dates! Heaven help me...I could be a total disaster lol! Welcome to my new and improved life.

Trcyprkr70 reacted to ab76307 in Loosing Too Much Weight?Sure... I am 5'9" I currently weight 166... My goal was at the top of my normal range at 170. I started this journey at 315lbs, so I've lost almost 150lbs in less than 1 year.

Trcyprkr70 reacted to lessofmeismore in Macho Cheese DoritosI agree! This thread is awesome. The question was answered and we got to go down memory lane with some very witty posters. I was smiling each time I read the responses. It was nice. Laughter is a good thing and the people posting were enjoying each others posts. I did not see anyone laughing *at* someone. It was a great exchange of info and fun.

Trcyprkr70 reacted to Butterthebean in Question? You're what, 2 months post op? You're eating quite a bit and not drinking near enough. 1200 calories is what I was told to eat and I'm a big active man, I weighed 400lbs. If you're smaller and female (which you are) I would think you'd be eating less (but that is up to your NUT). But either way, 4-6 glasses of Water a day is not near enough. 64 ounces is the MINIMUM. And I emphasize the word minimum. More is even better.
Do you have any symptons of being dehydrated? Dry skin, thirsty, dry eyes, dark urine, leg cramps at night? If so, those are signs you're not drinking near enough and that will definitely stall your weightloss.

Trcyprkr70 reacted to Butterthebean in Macho Cheese DoritosPlease point to the post where someone is laughing at the OP. He got some good advice, got his question answered...then the whole thread sorta spiraled out of control, but so what. There is nothing wrong with laughing....especially at ourselves.

Trcyprkr70 reacted to Catracks in Macho Cheese DoritosAbbybeep, pointing someone in a good direction is not "judging." The word is overused. There is nothing wrong with pointing out alternatives. Mine would be to wait 3 or 6 months (whatever his surgeon says about popcorn) and try air popped or stove popped popcorn (with a teeny bit of olive oil) with hot sauce sprinkled on it.
Stay away from all movie theater and microwave popcorn. Popcorn is better without the added fat and chemicals.

I ws sleeved on July 16 th & its coming off slowly. I will weigh this wk sometime to see wht I hv lost. My biggest deal is intaking fluids!
But dont give up! If you're eating less, it will come off.

Trcyprkr70 reacted to Supersweetums in Frustrated! What Am I Doing Wrong?Thank you for this article, it should really get pinned so everyone can read it as I see this type of question several times a day. I knew about the stall, but never knew why! It was very interesting to read this and it makes sense! Thanks Again!

Howdy. I've posted this link a couple of times already. It's a good article explaining why your body weight has stalled.
