  1. I received my lap band on March 25, 2010 I lost 50 pounds total. However, a week after I had my surgery I got sick with leakage, severe gas and possible infection. The doctor took almost all the fluid out. All this time my insurance had been paying for this. I had been back at least 3 times to get a refill. On one of the visits my doctor was having a hard time getting to the port. Will in August I went to get another refill because I was not having any restriction at all. He was unable to get to the port. I had to see the Radiologist and he was not able to reach my port. Now I was suppose to go back to the hospital to fix whatever was going on. However, I get a phone call saying that my insurance will not cover a reversion surgery and it will cost me 1500. What are you for real one day before I was suppose to get this fixed. My band had slipped and it is twisted I believe down onto my stomach. When I eat I have no restriction and I get severe pain in my stomach area so bad I can not move. Then were the large incision is at it gets puffy. I just want to know why I am going to have to suffer for something that was supposed to work. What to do. I have Medicare and Medicaid now. Oh I just found out that I need to have a lap band adjustment under Fluoroscopy. Why don't the insurance cover this.
