I had my first visit with metro weight loss center in February. Yesterday had my first visit with the surgeon. Going over questions the topic of marijuana came up, and i told her i have a medical marijuana card she says i still need to stop and i will have random drug tests. I thought since i have a card it wouldnt be a problem. So i just stopped because im not going to let that get in the way of what i want. Just seeing if anyone else had a similar problem.

I'm 18 months out and I still rarely eat refined carbs. I mainly eat vegetables, lean protein (poultry, fish, pork, egg whites), and legumes. I don't eat a lot of processed low-carb substitute foods because they tend to be overpriced and often high in fat and calories, but I do have a few go-to substitutions:
Cauliflower rice - I eat this several times per week and don't miss real rice at all. I buy the frozen stuff, so it's even faster and easier to prepare than real rice. Mr. Tortilla 1-net-carb tortillas (these are small and great for tacos). La Banderita carb counter tortillas (larger and great for wraps, and I cannot tell the difference from real flour tortillas). Mashed cauliflower - good substitute for mashed potatoes (with a lot of garlic and herbs, and low fat gravy).

Skyr, a type of yogurt, this has been my go to protein food item and has been for the last 6 months being vegetarian and all. I don't consume protein powders or shakes and get most of my protein from Skyr and other vegetarian food groups.

    Hi everyone,

Have my date fixed for June 6th in Turkey. I live in Germany. I feel ok about the surgery but mentally quite insecure about the changes that need to come after that, as if I lack the confidence needed to execute all required life style changes. Anyone feels this way? :) how are you coping?

My surgery is tentatively early June! I’m so excited!! My pre-op and post-op instructions are very similar to yours. We just talked over it but my next appointment he will be giving me all the paperwork and submitting to my insurance for final approval.
