TaeRenee reacted to VSGDavid in December 2018 Sleevers!Yesterday marks the 6 month mark since surgery. I've lost 123 pounds since I started this journey. Some days are a challenge to remember to eat slow, that is still my biggest hang up. I've adjusted well to the eating changes, and have a much happier outlook on life.

My goal was 170, but after seeing myself, 170 Maaaann be a bit too small for my liking. [emoji849] I am back walking 5 days a week, appetite is kool, I have been on a weight stall for about 3 weeks, but I haven't measured my inches, but they are being ripped off me[emoji847] I am feeling better, looking younger, and getting to my goal!! I will upload a pic in a sec to compare. What's yall progress looking like December sleevers?[emoji3]

TaeRenee reacted to sisternewt@yahoo.com in December 2018 Sleevers!I could use a good 12 step program. “Hello my name is Kathleen, and I am a scale-oholic.” It is pathetic. I’m so obsessed. I have been at a “stall” for almost 3 weeks. It’s almost discouraging. I was so excited to hit the -40 at exactly 3 months. My dr said to expect 30-50, so I was happy! Then... Haven’t lost since. And I am just getting over some horrible bug that lasted for over 2days that caused me to not keep anything down or in. And still no weight loss.
Of course it’ll come. It’s just so dern frustrating! I’m smiling though. Still excited about -40 cus I’m thinner than I’ve been in over 33 years!!! -
TaeRenee got a reaction from Sophie7713 in December 2018 Sleevers!Hi Louise! That freaking scale finally moved this weekend! My initial weight was 343, but I will get there. I'm out of the 300s though. So, that's something to be proud of[emoji847]

TaeRenee got a reaction from Sophie7713 in December 2018 Sleevers! So, I haven't posted in a while with my busy busy schedule. My updates thus far are that I am down 56 lbs since surgery on 12/20/18. I am not where I'd hoped to be but I have been trying to get back on track. My protein and albumin is a bit low, so I will get back to taking in 2 protein shakes per day, start back walking on my lunch breaks and watching my intake. Hit another stall it seems like. I hit one at 4 weeks and again for the past 2-3 weeks which is week 13-15 post-op. Just need some motivation to get back to my weigh loss goal of 175.

TaeRenee reacted to irish_sleever in December 2018 Sleevers! So woke up this morning and the weight seemed to melt away this week and for the first time in well over a decade i'm no longer OBESE wohooo BMI today 29.9 so to say im ecstatic doesn't even describe it well enough.
At this rate should reach by goal weight by summer assuming weight loss continues. Planning to start gymming end of march so far haven't done much apart form watch my diet and keep my step count up high.

TaeRenee reacted to SteveT74 in December 2018 Sleevers!I doubt the 4.5 pound weight gain had anything to do with adding puree/soft foods into your diet. Women's weight naturally fluctuates more then men's over the course of the month. If you're retaining water, you can be burning fat tissue, but it isn't going to show up on the scale. Daily weight fluctuations can be really frustrating, but you can't look at it as how much you gain or lose in any given day. You have to track trends over time--how you did in a week, month, two months etc. I know my rate of weight loss is leveling out and the days of of seeing 2 pounds loses overnight may be a thing of the past. That's ok!! If I losing an average of one to two pounds a week (average---not that you actually lose two pounds every week), I'll reach my goal weight sometime in 4 to 8 months from now . That is awesome and is more than I could have hoped for and expect from having this surgery. Even if it takes another year, I'll still be thrilled since I never imagined I could ever lose this much weight and feel this good again--plus I am off my T2DM meds which is just awesome.

TaeRenee reacted to Sophie7713 in December 2018 Sleevers!Hi TaeRenee: I am in week 6 and in soft food stage. Some mornings I've woken up nauseated, and its been helpful to drink decaf hot tea with some 1% milk to settle my stomach. After drinking and waiting 30 minutes - I prepare ¼ cup of low fat cottage cheese with some fresh smashed bananas mixed in. On those mornings, I will also postpone my vitamin regime until lunch meal and stagger them thru the afternoon - As I suspect they can sometimes irritate my stomach. All these required vitamins + supplements are new to my system as of week 4. There are a few favorite foods before surgery like eggs in any form that no longer settle well. It may be their sulfur content. Perhaps, by trial and error you might experiment and find some relief with different foods? I spike a lot of my recipes with chili pepper flakes and/or fresh chillies that believe it or not, calm my nausea. Maybe review your current eating plan with nutritionist to see what might be going on? The surgeon, too. What you are dealing with on a daily basis and at each meal is no fun and must be very discouraging. Every body will heal and progress differently - so don't loose heart. I certainly hope to enjoy an egg omelet, egg salad and red pickled beets with hard boiled eggs again sometime in the future!
