FlyAwayFree got a reaction from Liz The New Me in Sense of Taste Changed hurting the cooks feelingsOk so I am not the only one! I tried a bit of cookie and omg I had to spit it out! It was terrible. I tried a bite of hubby's cheesecake Tuesday and had to spit it out again lol.... and cheesecake was always my favorite. So gross now. To be fair, I don't really like any food like I did before... which makes me happy really lol. Except eggs, I could totally eat eggs pretty much every day!

FlyAwayFree reacted to Megan Sadler in Post op clothingMy bath robe has a removable tie that I pulled off this morning and looped through my belt loops to keep my pants up. I have an iPhone 7 Plus and there is enough room now between my belly and pants to put it long ways so I need new clothes. My husband saw and dragged me to the store and I’m having an anxiety attack about even trying on clothes. I don’t know why or what to do. ??? Im 16 weeks post op, and 66 lbs down. -

FlyAwayFree got a reaction from ProudGrammy in How did your family and friends react?I went into this without telling anyone but my hubby, adult children, and a few trusted friends. And I am very glad. Everyone in my life that knows is super supportive and loves me no matter what. No one griped about my weight before and everyone is just happy I am happy now. I am almost 6 weeks out from surgery, down 52 pounds, and don't feel like I am keeping any secrets. Lol, I had a female surgery earlier this year and I don't tell anyone about it either, so why would this be any different? It is what it is, a tool. And I LOOOOVE mine! It's not up for debate and I am still the one who has to do the work. I could seriously still eat like crap, its a choice now after surgery, but one made easier because of the surgery. I did this, I did the appointments, the liquid diet, the surgery, the recovery, and now the careful eating. So I don't have a need to share that I had surgery, its not a secret, just a nice tool in my repertoire!
I wish you luck and happiness and all the lovely things I am experiencing!

FlyAwayFree got a reaction from FancyChristine15 in WooooooooooooI needed to celebrate with someone who understands how great this feels! I weighed today and I have lost 52 pounds since the start of my liquid diet 7 weeks ago! I have so much weight to lose but seriously, its incredible that I have lost 52 pounds in 7 weeks! I will be taking pics again on the 29th to see if I can see the difference... but the last pic I took was on 10/29, the day of my surgery. So I wanna keep it close lol.
I am so grateful to life and my doctors and you guys and myself for this surgery. I still have a long way to go but I already feel the wonderful benefits of a 52 pound weight loss!

Since I left the hospital I’ve noticed a big change in the foods I enjoy for their taste and texture. Many of the foods I loved before are no longer appealing to me. Most of them because they don’t taste so good anymore and some make me sick. I have been very good and haven’t been eating bad at all. However, this Last weekend Miss Barbara began her annual Christmas Cookie baking marathon. She made all my old favorites and I decided I could eat half of one cookie each day. Well I’ve taken a bite of each kind she made and surprise! I hate them all. I will have no trouble avoiding them from here on out. I guess that’s a good thing, because my weight problem was primarily caused by my inherited sweet tooth. I’ve dropped 3 more pounds even though my house is full of cookies and homemade candies. I have not told my Bride that I don’t want to eat her cookies anymore, nor will I...it would break her heart. I’m either going to pretend to eat them or find a way to break it to her without hurting her feelings. Any suggestions?

FlyAwayFree reacted to Johnny B in How did your family and friends react? My wife and daughters know (they have been very supportive), but I'm not telling anyone else. Its MY personal journey, and whether they approve or disapprove doesn't matter to me. I want to get healthier. I started dieting and working out once again a few months ago, and am down 34 lbs. So, they will probably think it's just that. If they ask, I will answer truthfully, but I'm not going to broadcast it. I think its personal. -
FlyAwayFree reacted to Queenbee34 in How did your family and friends react?I'm having an internal struggle about telling people that I am having bariatric surgery. My husband has been so supportive so has my parents and 3 really close friends. But when I told my mother in law after I received my official surgery date. She said well why can't you just follow a diet. I don't think she meant it to be as hurtful as it sounded but its comments like that I don't want to hear. It was already hard enough to make the decision to start my weight loss journey and to get to this point I am now. Its an accomplishment that I am proud of but I feel like I am keeping it a secret. After my mother in laws comment I don't think I will tell anyone else. Has anyone had the negativity with telling people in their life?

FlyAwayFree reacted to Orchids&Dragons in How did your family and friends react? Before surgery, I only told people I was positive would be supportive. I wasn't interested in debating pros and cons with Negative Nellies. They didn't get a vote. Told the rest of the family afterwards and pretty much said "support is welcome, not criticism"
