    I want to get lap band surgery but my insurance doesn't cover this procedure? I have a signed letter from my doctor that states that this surgery is necessary to improve my health and to minimize the complications of diabetes. Do I have any recourse? Can I make a claim through the state insurance commissioner asking that this procedure be covered? Has anyone else been able to get financial help even though it wasn't a covered procedure?
