I was 43 years, the mother of two and grandmother of two. I have been married to the most wonderful man in the world for 25 years. I suffered a heart attach at 43. My blood pressure was literally uncontrollable, my blood sugar was off the chart, my triglycerides were over 600 and I was dying. I realized I had a lot to live for and had to take action. See my father died of a massive heart attach at 45 years old. I did not want to follow in his foot steps. I dieted and tried everything to lose weight. I would lose only to gain back more than I lost. I decided on weight loss surgery and began to do my research. Having surgery here in the states was unobtainable for me so I looked abroad. Let's just say my husband was not on board with this decision. We discussed it back and forth for some time. I finally told him that I was literally dying and he would lose me one way or the other. So I asked him to give this decision more thought. It was the only way. I truly believed that I would be the "one" who would not really be successful but I wanted to take the chance. I went with A lighter Me after tons of research. I have been a nurse for 25 years and I knew that I would know if something was not right and up to standard. Couldn't find anything. My care and follow up was exceptional. Four months after surgery my blood pressure was so low I was nearly passing out. That was the end of my hypertension. My blood sugar was getting really low, that was then end of my diabetes. I went with a friend 5 months later to have her sleeve done and the Dr's did labs on me so we could see if there had been improvements. My triglycerides were just a few points from being normal. After 1.6 years out from surgery I am maintaining my weight loss and food is no longer the enemy for me. I have put in the hard work and will never ever go back. I can't even sit still now. I am playing with my grandchildren. We go camping and they usually can't keep up with me. I feel amazing. I am free! I suffered from obesity since I was in the 3rd grade, at 46 years old I am the healthiest I have ever been. Loving life
