As with most people on this site, I have been overweight my entire life. I love to eat and hate to exercise, so everytime someone told me, "all you to do to lose weight is to eat right and exercise more", I would cringe. Easier said than done! I have been on and off of diets, trying to suck it up and eat right even when I wanted to be able to just have whatever I wanted. However, each and every time I would lose a little weight and then gain it all back and then some! It was miserable! My mother had brought up the idea of Lap-Band surgery and finally talked me into at least going to one of the information sessions. I didn't think it was anything I would be interested in - surgery seemed too drastic just to lose weight, and what would my life be like if I couldn't stuff my face whenever I wanted? I went to the information session and came out still unsure. But as everything from the meeting sunk in, I realized LapBand was what I needed to do. All of my diets had failed and would continue to do so - I need a tool to help me live a healthy life. Right now, I'm at the heaviest I have ever been and I can't wait for that to change! I'm on my feet all day for my job each day is painful to get through because of my weight. I'm ready for that to change. I started the pre-op meal replacement shakes today and am looking forward to my surgery and my new life.
