Dr. Bell seems competent as a surgeon.  As mentioned by another entry, there are still kinks to be worked out.  I also had a consult with the anesthesiologist via telephone, was asked to submit for an EKG at the last minute and was given 2 days notice of my surgery.  However, these requirements were taken care of at a pre op appointment and took a total of an hour.  That took care of the EKG. phone consult and the pre op with the nurse. They are still relatively "new" to the world of Lap Band surgery, but considering that they have only been doing the surgeries for the last 10 months, I think things are going pretty well.  Sometimes I feel like the staff at his office are overwhelmed and could show a little more empathy and understanding toward those of us who are working and trying to juggle last minute appointments, etc. They offer support group meetings as well once a month.
