I think it was the hiatal hernia repair that explains most everything. Similar recoveries and post op diets even. Double check cause I’m not 100% certain but I think that was it.

Hey everyone just stopping by to say I had my surgery today at 10am. I have been in and out of sleep with some pain. My throat is dry as hell and I can’t wait for a sip of water. I have been gargling though. Waiting to go on my first walk now. Can’t wait to start this new chapter!

I think it’s normal as well due to low calories and fluids. Rest your body is going through a lot. Do your best to stay hydrated and call your doctor to just to be safe. Hope you feel better soon.

They have these sponge things they call lollipops that they can soak in water and give you. I did not get them personally but my grandma has a hernia and couldn’t have water and she got them and ice chips. Also, chapstick comes in handy.

Don't be ashamed. We're human. And that's what we're here for to listen and support and encourage each other.
I did the exact same thing. I gained 30 lbs during COVID. Just got them off over the last 3 months. It IS possible to still lose after WLS and after a weight-gain. The tool still works, you just have to use it.
Go back to the basics of tracking every single thing you eat and drink. Get your 60g protein, 64 oz water daily. It'll come back off.
It won't be fast, but it'll be reliable. You can do it!

I'm finally mustering up the guts to ask for help. I am 5' 2" and I had gastric sleeve at 205 lbs. My struggle with weight has been life-long. I dropped down to 155 and I was actually quite happy there, as I was down to a size 10. I consumed about 900 cal/day at that point.
Everything went to hell in a handbasket when COVID hit. I truly do not mean to make excuses, because there are none, but there were situational issues. My husband was hit severely early on in the pandemic, the kids were doing remote schooling, I was out of a job, I wasn't exercising and I chose to deal with all of this by getting diet sloppy. And the weight has just been creeping up. I am now at 190 lbs.
What's even worse, is that according to the 13cal/pound calculation, I would need to eat 2470 calories per day in order to maintain a weight of 190lbs. I don't come close to that. I average 1600, and usually not even that much. My metabolism has always been a problem, which I suspect lots of people can identify with.
I have tried Keto and Atkins on and off, but they are not sustainable for me. I read up on Pouch Reset, but then also read about the weight regain. I'm considering intermittent fasting, or simply using my Baritastic app and dropping it to 900 cals. I even looked into a revision, but that wouldn't solve the core issues, which I can't even identify at this point.
I'm so ashamed by this. I've made a mess of this but at the same time, I'm committed to fixing this problem.
    Help? Thank you...

Hey friends. I had my surgery this morning. So far…so food. I’m having abdominal and surgery pain; which is to be expected. I’ve been walking and doing the incentive spirometer. Im staying overnight in the hospital. Im very tired, but happy. I started my life today!

Hi everyone I am in Aus and just came across this page. I am sorry to hear peoples operations are getting cancelled. Mine was booked Jan 6th and while I was in admissions they were saying as of the 7th elective surgeries were getting postponed so I was so lucky. I had the gastric bypass and It’s now the 11th here so almost a week later and I’m only just starting to feel more awake and mobile now. For the first few days I was knocked out with all the medications I think. I hope everyone is doing well in their recoveries. And for anyone on their shake diet - you can do this, I lost 11kg on mine!

I had sleeve surgery yesterday. I am having terrible body soreness in my calves, inner thighs, back & neck. I feel like I did an insane workout and can’t move from it. I’ve been walking around every hour, but am still super sore. Anyone else?

On Jan 3rd I had my sleeve and so happy that everything was good. Less pain than I thought but take into account that every person is different. Now, already at home, starting my first week diet post op.

    Good luck everyone!

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! Day 2 of this liquid diet. I am hungry. I’m doing good, but people keep eating around me. I’m good when I am at home. However, I have to work and it’s soooooo hard to stay focused at work. I’m a nurse and If you’ve ever known a nurse… We love to eat! I’m going to stay strong and keep pushing forward.
