  1. Update.... Finally relief! After 5 weeks of not being patient and searching for relief, the pain has eased off. I feel so much better. Thank you all who responded to my rants and encouraged me. Wishing all of you success!!!
  2. I have had extreme tearing pain like that of a muscle in my abdomen to the left of my belly button since surgery 4 weeks ago. My Dr says it's normal but everyone I know that went to other surgeons says they only experienced pain for a few days. Has anyone else experienced this and should I get a second opinion?
  3. Good for you on the weight loss!! Stay hydrated! My dietician said that is the key focus a month post op. I believe everyone thinks the weight loss is immediate but if you drop 2 or 3lbs a week consistently....wow!! And you can live in this new you forever!!! Can you tell I'm excited now? 😊 good luck!!
  4. You sound exactly like me. I am 5 weeks out now and since I have not been doing much other than increasing my walking a little at a time I do feel better. I feel that there was some nerve damage along with pulling of scar tissue in my lower abdomen that contributed to this. I too was in pain sleeping on my sides but I can now with no problem. I can have solid foods now. Just no salads or raw fruits and vegetables. I experiment with new flavors since the portions are so small but I feel like I'm in a new world. Weight loss is slow but I'm good with that. I find when i drink more plain water is when i see the most difference in weight loss. Good luck to You! 😊
  5. @SpindleCity. Thank you for your response. I'm so sorry for your pain, but at the same time I am relieve to know I am not alone. Please let me know what they tell you at your visit. I do not wish to rely on pain meds either so anything else that can bring relief at this point I would love to hear. Your story sounds the exact same as mine. I will be waiting. Thank you again.
  6. I'm starting to believe this is the same case with me. Some nerve damage in that area of largest incision. I'm going to try to wait out the 6 weeks. I'm most frustrated about not being able to do much. Never one to sit around. Thank you for your help. Maybe I can help others one day.
  7. That does make sense. At least yours eventually got better. It helps a lot. Thanks!

JULY SLEEVERS- How are you doing?

The nurse said it was normal and not to be alarmed. I'm sure she is able to sleep without feeling like there is a knife in her abdomen though.
  9. Thank you all for your suggestions and support. This has been such a scary time for me and it helps to hear the opinion of others. I am going to my primary care physician and follow up with my surgeon on September 7th. I will let you all know when I find the answer. I have lost nearly 30lbs since I began this journey and would like to see a light at the end of the painful tunnel.

JULY SLEEVERS- How are you doing?

I called their office week 3 and was told this is normal. My next appt is 6 weeks.
  11. Thank you. I'm going to do that. I don't know anything about hernias but I will definitely look into it.
  12. I'm not saying I believe what he said. But this is stabbing pain and it has me grasping at straws. I can't sleep. Bending kills me. And I can't live on pain meds. 4 weeks has me depressed. I'm just searching for answers that may lead to relief. Thank you for your opinion.
  13. At least I know I'm not the only one. I had glue on all my incisions and my pain is not any better. I saw a chiropractor that said he believes a muscle was cut during surgery. The psoas muscle? Anyone heard of this?

JULY SLEEVERS- How are you doing?

Still in extreme pain in my abdomen but all I am told is this is normal. I truly regret what I have done if I have to continue with the unexplainable pain 4 weeks out.
