Let me just say that I am super excited about finding this website. I stumbled upon it while searching for information on being anemic and I am so very glad that I did!!!

My name is Shaye!! I have been obese all of my life. Someone asked me if I could ever remember being skinny....my response was complete laughter! I was the chubby kid that everyone made fun of. Obesity has thrown me some things that I did not like. And those things were beginning to get worse. My mother, who was my best friend, died from complications of a stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure which all stemmed from obesity. The very last conversation we had before she passed away was that she wanted me to do something about my weight. After a year and a half...I was able to gain the strength to get started and here I am!!!

I had my lap band surgery on April 30, 2014. I started out at 316 and I am currently at 273. Those 43 pounds have made a world of difference!! I can honestly say that I have not had any major problems and I am loving the results. I am very thankful that I have found a community of others who I can share with.
