Date Oct. 25, 2009:  I have always been overweight from childhood.  I dieted in High School, weighing 185 pounds in 1979 at graduation.  I joined Gloria Marshall's figure Saloon in 1980 and had good results, (down to 149) but the weight returned after I got married and had my daughter.  I tried Weight Watchers several times and lost the weight only to gain back what I lost plus an extra 10 pounds.  I tried Physician Weight Loss and lost 45 pounds in 30 days only to gain it back plus more.  I had my son in 1989 and gained 50 pounds during the pregnancy.  I never lost it.  At delivery I was 209 pounds.  I went back to weight watcher several times again for several more years with the same results. Loosing weight only to gain it back, plus some. I ballooned to 256 pounds and a size 22.  After 12 months of researching which Doctor and what procedure to have done.  I choose Dr. Stephen Hamn and the Lapband.  My surgery was 06/02/05.  I started off loosing the weight steadly. By 9/4/2005 I was down to 214 pounds.  6/21/2006 I was at 183 pounds.  I was down to 163 pounds in 10/13/2007, but I started having challenges with reflux.  I had an Un-fill in Oct. 2007 of 0.5cc which took my band to have a total of 2.5cc. I did better with no reflux, but gained 20 pounds back.  I had a fill in May 2008 of 0.3cc taking my band to 2.8cc.  I have slowly lost weight again, and am still working to get to goal.  Slowly but surely it will come off and stay off.  As everyone will tell you, this is not a quick fix, you have to work at it and make the correct choices in food.  If you go back to your old eating habits and eat alot of "slider" foods that are high in carbs, you will gain the weight. I'm down to 171 pounds and in a size 10 on 08/08/2009.  I continue to have struggles to make the "right" choices, but I am not gaining weight.  Would I do this again....In a New York Minute. Update 4/02/2010:  I continue to struggle, but have not gained weight back.  I am down to 162.6 pounds and continue to be in a size 10.
