Alfred Schneider, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Alfred Schneider is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland Center. Dr. Schneider has 16 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 4 of our members have Dr. Schneider listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Dr. Schneider is a graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed a surgical residency at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital, Detroit. His specialty is general surgery, and he is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Schneider has performed more than 15,000 surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. He has a special interest in laparoscopic bariatric surgery including Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, LAP-BAND, and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a member of the American Society of General Surgeons and Michigan Society of General Surgeons. He has been recognized in the “Top Docs” ranking by Hour Detroit magazine. He is in private practice with Surgical Associates of Macomb in Clinton Township.
