Dr. Eric Pinnar is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Fair Oaks Hospital. Dr. Pinnar has 19 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 29 of our members have Dr. Pinnar listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Eric D. Pinnar, M.D., F.A.C.S. Specializing in Bariatric Surgery, General Surgery and Advanced Laparoscopy Dr. Pinnar is a native of the Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. He received his M.D. degree from The Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in 1994. Dr. Pinnar continued his training and completed his General Surgery Internship and Residency at the Guthrie Clinic in Pennsylvania in 1999, where he helped build a bariatric surgery program. After completing his training, Dr. Pinnar moved back to Northern Virginia and started in the practice of General and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Pinnar eventually built his own multidisciplinary bariatric program and founded Advanced Weight Loss Solutions in 2005. He continues to serve as the Medical Director. Special Interests/ Procedures: Though maintaining a broad interest in the specialty of General Surgery, Dr. Eric Pinnar specializes in Bariatric Surgery and Advanced Laparoscopic Procedures (Abdominal Surgery, Anti-reflux procedures, Advanced diagnostic techniques, Hernia repair, Gallbladder, and Gastric Surgeries). He was a pioneer in the development in Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery and is an expert in the field of Minimally Invasive Surgery, including the newest completely Endoscopic Incisionless Procedures. Dr. Pinnar serves as faculty for both Allergan (Lap-Band) and for USGI (ROSE/POSE). He trains other surgeons to perform these procedures.
