John Huse, M.D., an Indiana native, is a graduate of Wabash College and Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Huse completed his general surgery residency at Methodist Hospital of Indiana. Along with Dr. Corbin Roudebush, Dr. Huse established the Bariatric program at Methodist Hospital in 1978. In 1994, he was instrumental in starting the Lite Life Bariatric Program at Winona Hospital and in 1998 helped facilitate the establishment of the St. Vincent Bariatric Center. This makes him one of the "fathers of bariatric surgery" in Indiana. With bariatric surgery as the main institute of his practice, he also does a wide variety of General Surgeries. His father and grandfather were both physicians in Indianapolis dating back to the 1920's. Dr. Huse has been married for 32 years to his wife, Patti, who he met in medical school. Patti remains an inspiration to him - being a practicing pediatrician, loving wife and fabulous mother. The couple have two sons, James, an investment banker in Indianapolis and Will, an attorney in Cincinnati. Together with their sons, the Huses breed, raise and show Morgan horses throughout the United States. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, board certified with the American Board of Surgery and is also a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
