Wiljon W. Beltre, MD is a Board Certified surgeon who has dedicated his professional career to helping individuals who are significantly overweight achieve real, permanent weight loss and improve their health, well-being, and quality of life through metabolic and bariatric surgery. Dr. Beltre received his undergraduate degree at Union College in New York and his medical degree at Howard University in Washington, DC. He completed his general surgery internship and residency at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey, then moved to Central Florida where he worked with one of the most experienced bariatric surgeons in the United States. In 2004, he completed a fellowship in cutting-edge, minimally-invasive surgical technologies, advanced laparoscopic procedures, and bariatric surgery techniques at the University of Texas, and is now one of the only fellowship-trained bariatric surgeons in Central Florida. Dr. Beltre is Board Certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He has performed thousands of obesity surgeries, and has an outstanding safety record and a proven track record of achieving successful results for his patients. He was one of the first surgeons in Central Florida to perform cutting-edge surgical techniques such as the sleeve gastrectomy, and is currently the only surgeon in Seminole County to offer this advanced procedure.
