Dr. Robert Woodbury, Bariatric Surgeon Robert Woodbury, MD, FACS is the Chief of Surgery at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital and Director of Metabolic Bariatric Surgery at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital . He is intimately involved in the training of young physicians at the hospital’s residency program. He is also the Medical Director of Healthy Steps Bariatric and Metabolic Center in Santa Rosa. He specializes in bariatric, gastrointestinal, and oncologic surgery. Dr. Woodbury proudly served 16 years in the U.S. Navy in the First Marine Division and in Fleet Surgical teams in support of combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Dr. Woodbury earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland and completed his internship and surgical residency training at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
