Lindsey Sharp, MD, FASMBS

Dr. Lindsey Sharp is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Duke Health Raleigh Hospital. Dr. Sharp has 19 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 37 of our members have Dr. Sharp listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Dr. Sharp, a Virginia native, earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University. He completed his medical degree and surgical training at Emory University in Atlanta and returned to Duke for a fellowship in bariatric and advanced minimally invasive surgery.Dr. Sharp was recently selected as the new Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery services at Rex Healthcare and he is excited to further expand the Excellence in Bariatric care at Rex Hospital.Dr. Sharp is certified by the American Board of Surgery, Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and an Associate Fellow with the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He has performed research on various topics including outcomes of weight loss surgery, exercise physiology, and renal failure.
