Jedediah Kaufman

Dr. Jedediah Kaufman is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Evergreen Hospital Kirkland . Dr. Kaufman has 16 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 27 of our members have Dr. Kaufman listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Dr. Jedediah Kaufman completed Medical School at the University of Minnesota and General Surgery residency at the University of Washington in 2004. He continued with Advanced Minimally Invasive Foregut Surgical Fellowship. Staying an additional year at the University of Washington in 2005-6 for advanced laparoscopic solid organ, colon and pancreatic and robotic surgery training allowed Dr. Kaufman to truly hone his surgical skills. He then developed specialized techniques in advanced abdominal wall reconstruction for treatment of hernias and complex bariatric surgery. He is dedicated to improving patients’ quality of life by providing solutions in areas of both weight loss and abdominal wall weakness due to hernias and obesity. Combining complex conventional and minimally invasive surgical techniques allow him to provide the highest quality of care in a wide variety of operative cases and needs and get people back to work and living life fully.
Dr. Kaufman is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the ASMBS, the Pacific Coast Surgical Association, SAGES and The Seattle Surgical Society. He has over 8 year experience in laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Married with 3 children, Dr. Kaufman is an avid outdoorsman enjoying trail running, marathons, skiing, fly-fishing and staying active with his family.
