Ross Mcmahon, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Ross Mcmahon is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Swedish Medical Center. Dr. Mcmahon has 23 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 80 of our members have Dr. Mcmahon listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Ross McMahon, M.D., medical director of Swedish Weight-Loss Services, is a Center of Excellence-certified bariatric surgeon. He received his medical training and completed his general surgery residency at Queen's University in Ontario, Canada. After his residency, Dr. McMahon was awarded a research fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in endosurgery and laparoscopic surgery. He then went on to complete a Clinical Endosurgery Fellowship at Duke. He took part in many of the early laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypasses performed at Duke University Medical School. He also helped expand the Minimally Invasive Surgery Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. Dr McMahon is now chief bariatric surgeon and Medical Director for the Swedish Weight Loss Services program. This program offers a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, complete with education and support group follow up. It is supported by a bariatric physician, clinical staff, a dedicated bariatric nurse specialist and dietician. The program is designed to meet individual patient needs and offers all forms of Bariatric Surgery options.
