Almost everyone hits a stall at the third week. It doesn't matter what you eat (unless you are eating milkshakes and french fries or something awful and need to fix it).
That said, my doctor prescribed a maximum of 60 g carbs and a minimum of 75 g Protein while on purees. I also ate a lot of eggs, Protein Shakes, and refried Beans. Other things I ate: Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and various white meats pureed with different sauces, such as:
sweet & spicy tuna (the kind that comes in a pouch) pureed with Sriracha sauce
hickory smoked tuna pureed with low cal BBQ Sauce
lemon dill salmon pureed with olive oil mayo
chicken pureed with marinara sauce, then heated up with melted mozzarella cheese
turkey pureed with peanut satay sauce
I was limited to 3 tablespoons of food per meal, 3 meals per day, no Snacks (other than liquids/protein shakes).
All of that said . . . the three week stall is completely normal and it doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong with your eating! I promise!

Well, my clothes still feel the same, as most of my casual clothes are very forgiving(leggings, tunics, dresses). BUT, I did notice today that my tummy no longer touches the steering wheel when I drive! Woot!

Wow, tamiJ and mamaspike, you two are doing well! Excellent news.
Barefeet - I do that too. I start the day with the "boring" Protein shake, then for my last "meal" I have a creamy Soup that just tastes nice.
Good news! I just got back from my post-op appt, and they say I'm doing well! I lost 33 lbs since Dec 5! I will need to monitor my blood pressure, but other than that I'm great!

I found a clear Protein drink that my new tummy tolerates! Isopure makes a Protein Drink that's clear. It's $5 a bottle but it has 40 grams of Protein per bottle. I'll probably be sipping on it all day.

I'm also an attorney, and I totally feel you about uncertainty.
It's totally normal for us to feel anxiety about this. I'm getting sleeved on Thursday, and I'm about to jump out of my skin with anxiety! However...
    1. Have you ever had any surgery before? Did you tolerate the drugs alright? My surgeon told me that less than 1% of patients have complications during the surgery or right after.... Those are awesome odds! We can do this!
    2. I've heard that some people don't vomit, as long as they don't overdo it on consumption. Maybe you'll be like that, eh? I hope I am too! I hate throwing up. On the upside, maybe this will get you over your phobia? Maybe? Eh?
    3. You're not giving up your stomach, you're making it smaller. After healing, you'll have a perfectly functional stomach again.
    4. Your tastes might change, that's true, but that's okay! Frankly, I'll be thrilled if I never wanted cake or pizza again! And I'm sure you'll be able to drink water!
    5. This is the part I'm the MOST certain of: If someone judges you for doing this, eff 'em. No, seriously. You don't owe it to anyone to tell them that you had this surgery. If you do choose to tell people, they better get with the program. Haters to the left. This is NOT an easy choice, NOT an easy lifestyle we're adopting. But you and I are choosing to live healthier. Everyone in your boat needs to be paddling in the same direction, not drilling holes in the bottom.
    6. 100% of the people that I've met have no regrets (after the recover process!). Everyone online, everyone in person. You may be different, maybe...but probably not.
    7. BREATHE! You can do this! If you can get through law school, and pass the bar, you can do THIS!

Hey lady thank you so much for your words of encouragement! I feel like when you read my post you totally got it, that's totally my personality. I have to have some sense of control. This whole thing is about giving in and accepting that you can't change something you'd like to be able to change. I was glad to hear you say that you don't like being sick to your stomach either and you're right no one does but with my phobia in a strange way this surgery may have helped me and I only got sick once in the hospital and was no big deal.It was expected because I had embraced the idea that this would be something I would have to face. I don't miss my stomach and as you said it still fully functional's is small but just a lot of psychological games the boiled up when when I got closer to the date. I have been home resting as I was in the hospital for four days. I had zero complications and as long as I continue to progress and feel better I think I will be very excited about this choice so again I really really appreciated your words. I read them several times. I read everybody's but I know that you could really relate to me so let's stay in touch as I will probably have more questions for people as we go along thanks for everything...i don't believe i could of gone through this with out this group...i was ready to walk! Sorry for the typos and run-on sentences....too many drugs...lol

Hi Southern Soul... I really appreciate your words of kindness and support I agree that it everyone's personal choice. I think as the date got closer I got very nervous. Maybe this was just a meltdown that I needed to have before facing the reality that my life would be changed completely. I am three days post operative and although the surgery was painful I am starting to feel much better about the surgery and my choices thank you very very much I really was able to use your words of encouragement.

Hi coffee grinder, thank you for your insight :-) I looked at a chart that was in my doctors office and it had that a BMI of 18.5 with a total weight for someone 5'8 as 118 pounds this is probably part of my non-sensibilities. In reality I will be happy if I hit 140 pounds... Thank you for keeping our heads in the game and being realistic about our goals!!! you guys are awesome!
    4 days post op....
