Don't concentrate on that, just concentrate on getting in your Protein and warter at about 6 weeks you won't even feel like you had surgery. Oh wait you will because you still won't be able to eat like you use too!

I'll let you know when I get to normal, but I have felt better and better every day since surgery. I had mine March 20, 2013. I am nearly out of pain for the first time in 6 years. So, I guess I am getting more and more normal every day. As I've had to slow down to eat, it's been helping to bring more calm into my life in other areas. My confidence is high, and yours will be there very, very, very soon!

I was in denial right up to the time they rolled me into the O.R. When I had to scoot from the gurney to the operating table, then it hit me, "Sh*t's gittin real up in here!"

    Hi fellow sleevers!
Checking in again! I have lost 69lbs as of this morning. I was sleeved 11/13. My HW was 248.8 (start of pre-op)- CW is 179. I've gone from wearing a TIGHT 20 to a loose non stretchy 12. Tops I've gone from XXL to a Medium! Things have gone well- no real issues eating anything and I'm happy with my results.
    Before
This morning- pardon the dirty counter lol

Hello November skeevers! I lost Seventy (70) since Dec 10th. I knew it would be rough going but ..... really nothing tastes as good as thinner feels. I am still a burly bear I still have a few pounds to take off, but it dropping at a steady pace. THE GOOD: I am wear now wearing the smallest pair of jeans I had stored in the closet from six years ago. My testosterone has surged, ( no further comment needed) and I feel like I am Twenty again. THE BAD: I still hurt, slime on occasion and still can't get all the protien I need to eat in . THE UGLY : my hair started to fall out, so I am now sporting a shaved head. I scare me in the mirror these days.

I say leave! It's clear that You have tried to make things work! But let's be honest it takes 2! And he seems not to be trying. I'm sorry but it seems like he needs to grow the hell up!! He has a family to care for! Why is he wanting to leave his job?! Does he not know how hard it is to find a good job!?
Me and my husband have issues but He takes care of home! I will give him that. His job closed down 3 years ago but he took another job that same week. It didn't pay like we were used to but it was a start. Now with all his raises we are making almost the same. However he hates this job with a passion! He is steady looking for another one. He has even done job interviews out of state! That's how bad he wants to change but he knows he can't just up and leave his current job and he wouldn't even if he could. I just don't understand men that don't want to take care of home! My brother in law is the same way. He always wants to change jobs and let m sister take care of everything.
Hopefully everything works out but if he leaves his Job without another one lined up he would be on his own!!

I have to agree with your friends, he is not going to change. But don't sacrifice yourself for someone who isn't even interested in trying. You've got a hot new body and a new lease on life, find someone who is willing to work as hard at the relationship as you are.

I can understand that working at Starbucks would be torture! Love Starbucks! But you've lost 26 lbs already! That's fantastic and you've worked hard for it. I think you should talk with your husband about stepping up to the plate (pardon the pun) and doing some of the meal preparation. Ask him to keep pizza and other trigger foods out of the house for the time being. My husband actually brought pizza slices into my hospital room the day after my surgery! He was clueless! I had to set him strait and asked him not to bring pizza anywhere near me. If he wants it he has to go out for it and stay out! Ha! As for your little boy, he may be just in the terrible twos but also is probably sensing your stress and anxiety. What you are embarking on takes great determination and courage and you are not able to use your coping mechanism, food. I was a basket case the first week of my pre-op diet as I detoxed from all the sugar I had been eating and the first week post-op on Clear Liquids was also very hard for me. Once I got thru that things have been easier. I wish you all the best for your journey. Hang in there and try to get some quiet time for self-reflection and meditation or prayer.

I've been having a rough week- I've had the flu and with so much drainage- I barely have room for real food. I've been drinking shakes to try and make up the room. The plus side- I'm down to 201.8. I have 2lbs to get to my first mini goal. I'm so determined to get to onederland!!

I totally know what you are saying. I officially can't wear anything but bras from lane Bryant and I can't wear anything from torrid. I went shopping yesterday just killing time and almost had a mini panic attack in torrid because everything was too big. Never expected to have that problem!

It gets completely back to normal ... just smaller portions.
Went out to dinner last month and had lobster with scalloped potatos and asparagus. Ate 1/4 of the lobster, 1/4 of the potatos and 2 spears. I was full, satisfied and didn't feel *blah* after. That is one of the great things about this. You eat ... you get full ... you don't feel like crap physically or mentally after. I eat steak, ribs ... but like Frye, I do avoid the breads, but can eat them. They just take up so much space that I would rather allocate to something nutritionally relevant.
I have energy like I never had before and am able to exercise and do things I was never able to do.

Well ... I, too, loved the family gatherings and the food fests. Going to a buffet? Count me in.
But this attitude and relationship with food was killing me. I had to make a change if I was going to make it to retirement. How many morbidly obese 65 year olds do you see? I'm not working my whole life so my wife can enjoy retirement and my children's kids have perhaps only one grandpa.
I knew if I did a band, the way my mind worked, I would justify the smallest complication would mean removal and back to old habits. I needed a permanent change.
I'm over 20 months out and this has been the best decision of my life. Sure, at first, I mourned food. Now I rejoice in the fact that I am no longer a slave to it.

Sleeves don't stretch. If you can handle 4 oz at a few months, you might be just over a cup in 1-2 years. The stretchy part has been cut out.
I drink a soda every day and I still have massive restriction. We have the capability to burp. Any excess gas from the carbonation is expelled. Yes, the nutritionist will tell you not to drink diet soda, but sometimes I swallow more air with my Crystal Light.
You can stretch a pouch, but not a sleeve. A pouch is made from different tissue.
P.S. I am a year and two months out.
What makes you gain weight is eating slider foods like chips, milkshakes, ice cream and junk food. Also cake, pastries, white rice, white bread and other nutritionally devoid foods. What makes you gain weight is returning to the habits that got us here in the first place.
Protein first, then a little veggie and fruit and if room a bite of two of healthy carbs.
