I will have been banded a year this month and so far great success and no probelms at all. Except the ones I do myself like the eating too fast and getting stuck. Anyway, a few days ago I started having pain right under my breasts in the middle of my stomach. I have been extremely bloated but not passing much gas or burping at all. The pain is sometimes more painful and then just a burning. I feel all this pressure in this area. More pressure that pain most of the time. I went to ER and they did CT scan and told me all looked fine but this pain/pressure has not stopped at all and I am worrying myself to death. Has anyone out there had similar experiences and what was the out come? I can't lean forward for very long because it's like I can feel my stomach. It's this pressure that won't go away. I am really scared. I have an appt with general Dr tomorrow afternoon but fell like i can't wait that long. I have been on antibiotics for a kidney infection and was told that would kill off all the "good" bacteria in the stomach and could cause gastritis. Just looking for help, comfort, advice. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Angel

Ok I had this same issue the other day but yet you said you went to the hopsital right well I was going ot tell you I had a horrible pain and it ended up being my gallbladder and exactly 1 1/2 after being banded...women that have gallbladder pains they feel the pain right between thier breast! Ask then to do a sono and see if you may have stones. I tried to blame the pain on something to do with my band too but it was not!

I'm with RCruz....rapid weight loss can trigger gallbladder problems. For me, it was a burning pain that went up through my chest and I thought I was gonna die. So ASK the general doc if he thinks this is gallbladder and ask to be screened for gallstones.

They said my gallbladder looked fine on the ct scan. I am going today to ask for an upper GI which is what the band Dr said I should have done next. Once that comes back I should know more. Thank you for your input!

Hi:

Did you band surgeon look at your CT scan? You might want to ask him/her to. Not that many ER docs have alot of band experience. My band doctor says that if you have an issue below your chin and above your knees to at least give him a phone call. He had one patient that had 3 days of tests before he knew she was in the hospital. He went in, took a little Fluid out and all of her discomfort went away. He could have saved thousands of dollars if she'd called him first.

I hope you feel better soon. Please let us know what it is so that we can learn from your experience.

Take care.

Sue

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
