Hi All,

Very excited went for my third fill today, down another 3.6KG in two weeks that's a total of 23.5KG (51lbs) WOW ! Gotta be happy with that !!!!!

I really am in awe at the amount of weight I am loosing ....1/4 of the way there..... but still have a long ways to go

Dewberry......

That is super!....and a lot of weight in a short time. I am thinking I need to be more agressive with my fills. I only have had a 2cc and a .5 cc fill and I was bandedon 9/8. I am down 23 pounds but it is so VERY slow. I have an appointment Monday and I am goign to push for a decent fill. It seems a waste to go thoruhg all of that for .5cc. Good news is I uped my exercise yesterday and plan to stick with it. Got my eliptical up and running and now there are no excuses! Congratulations all you BIG LOSERS!

This is the first Thanksgiving I can remember that when I stepped on the scale the Monday afterwards and NOT added any weight. I may not have lost anything, but I held my own and for that I am VERY VERY THANKFUL!

I go in for my second fill today, and am anxious to see what I weigh on my doctor's scale. (Mine at home is different, and that can be disappointing!)

Good luck Deb! My 2nd fill was not scheduled until Dec.8th, I moved it to today in hopes of convincing them to give it to me sooner since I felt nothing from the last one.

Dee, I was originally scheduled for the 2nd fill in December too, but I asked if I could come in sooner. My doctor really likes you to wait 6 weeks between fills, but he will allow you a somewhat shorter time between them.

I have not been online for a while because I had an infection in the port area and had my port removed 9 days ago. No idea what happened and how it happened, all I know is that it was very painful. Luckily my surgeon was able to clip the tubing so I still have my restriction however I would love to get another fill soon. But a little restriction is still better than no restriction at all, so I am thankful for that. No idea when I will get my port back but I truly hope soon :-)

I am happy that all are doing well, wow Amanda, you have really dropped a serious amount of weight, congratulations!

I am very sorry you had so much difficulty. You are much stronger than me. I think if I had the complications you experienced and had to have that port removed, I would have just given up and had the whole think yanked. I admire your courage and commitment !

Deb, I did get my 2nd fill today, I now have 5cc in my 10cc band. It felt much different this time. Whereas I felt nothing at all with the first one, I felt this one right away. I am hoping the three days of liquids will jump start my weight loss again...

Hey! I had my fill today too. I still don't feel a whole lot. I wanted him to keep going but he wouldn't. He didn't tell me how much i have but he told me I have a size 8apl or alp band. Don't know what that means since everyone talks about cc's. He says 8apl is the new one... I don't know. I do know that he hurt me today. My port is tilted so he can never find it while i'm standing. I suggested laying down and no soon as I did he something that erupted the most god awful pain. I literally had to brace myself for a minute there. As soon as I laid down he got it right away. I have set an extremely high goal for myself this time. I go back in 28 days so wish me luck.

Stardustic I'm sorry to hear about your port. I'm glad that you didn't give up and that you are still willing to lose the weight.

Congratulations to all the those losing the weight successfully.

It's funny that the three of us all had fills today. I found out I have a 10 cc band, and I have just 3 ccs in it. She only put in 1 cc today because I seem to be doing pretty well---lost 9 lbs in the 3 weeks since my last fill. That psyched me up. I'm scheduled for another fill in 4 weeks.

Stardustic, I'm sorry to hear about your port problems. Hope everything gets worked out soon.

Oh NO! Sorry to hear that but at least they kept the restriction in! That is weird that this happened. Did you ever feel any pain before that? Did the Dr have any theories? Also was it major surgery to have it removed? Crossing fingers for a speedy recovery!

I'm going tomorrow - 3rd fill. Though honestly if I could wait two weeks I would but I need to schedule them in advance.

I had my second fill today also! I feel pretty good. This fill puts me to 6cc's in a 10cc band. I hope the weight comes off a little easier after this fill. I felt like I was starving and the scale wasn't moving much with the last fill. Very disappointing! Oh well, new month - new goal!

Finally, Mr. scale is starting to move. I was beginning to believe the darn thing was broken! LOL I guess that 2nd fill helped, even if it just gave me a kick in the booty. I hope this restriction lasts at least a couple of weeks.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
