I would like to see a section for people who have less than 75 pounds to lose. We could be called "lite weights" or something simular. We have less to lose and lose slower than others so we could compare to others with the samer amounts to lose. We may lose so slow that we cause others to wonder if it is worth it. What do you think?

It seems to me that at some point, if the band works, everyone will have less than 75 lbs to lose.

Other than insurance approval and doctor willingness to perform the surgery, is there really a difference? Educate me!

I like that idea. I myself have 75 to lose. The Patient Advocate at for MIBC where i will be having surgery had the same goal 80lbs she reached her goal weight in 8-9 months, she looks great. So yes i think it is worth it. 75lbs is still a lot of weight to lose.

We need the support of others who are not losing large amounts of weight.I am four months out and feel like I am not doing well because I have not lost alot of weight compared to others.

I feel the same way, but we just have to realize that they do have more to lose than us. Hang in there and we are doing great!!

This was a good idea. With less weight to lose and doing so at a slower pace sometimes worries me. Of course going to the gym tonight. Just wish I had someone with me that can actually understand how hard this is sometimes.

I don't fall into this category, but I do support this. I see others starting at 215 or whatever that don't have as much to lose with the same concerns. But just remember, you'll get to your goal before us heavy weights do! So that's always a plus. Wish I had my surgery much sooner! Good luck!

Slow losers? It's not a race. No gold medals and 1 million bucks for the one who crosses the magic finish line called "normal weight" first.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
