Newbie here, band date 2/28/08, NERVOUS!

I'll be getting the band in less than 2 weeks, & I'm very nervous. I was wondering if my complusion to overeat really will be under control after getting the band, I'm a little skeptical yet still hopeful & willing to do as the doc says. But it's such a mental thing with me. I'm also kind of Having my last hurrah with food since & scheduled the surgery date...REALLY not holding back on the goodies & the portions I'll not be having later on in the VERY near future. I'm surprised that I'm not as out of control with food now that I gave myself a time period of "free reign." Weird...

The band will certainly help but you need to remember that it is a tool, not a miracle cure. You will need to control your mental desire to overeat and you'll need to make the right food choices and exercise. It's a wonderful experience though and I wish you the best.

Hello and welcome. Like Libra said, the band is a great tool, but you have to do your part as well. It will help you feel full sooner and keep that full feeling longer, but you have to make healthier food choices too.
