Different scales will always weigh differently. Just go with the one scale weight. Make sure to keep hydrated. Ring your team if you are worried

I was 325 pounds on the day of surgery and a month later I had lost 31 pounds.

that's pretty fast - although did you lose weight before surgery and/or did you have to do one of those two-week liquid-only diets before surgery? If not, a chunk of that weight you lost right after surgery could have been Water.

My best guess is that it's mostly Water loss as@catwoman7 mentioned. Some on pre-op diets lose a lot of water weight (mainly low carb diets do that) so maybe that is what you are experiencing. You may enter a stall soon since it sounds like your body is adjusting. Please make sure you stay hydrated and contact your surgeon if you experience other symptoms.

I'm sorry I don't really understand your concern OP. If I had lost enormous amounts of weight right after my sleeve then I would have been over the moon, LOL. When you say you think you're losing weight too fast - what do you mean? Too fast for what??

As the others have said - it's likely that some will be Water weight and some will be attributable to the different scales you used. It's likely you will settle into a rate of loss that reflects your starting weight and how well you adhere to the rules of whatever surgery you had.

If you could share your starting weight and your surgery type (or better still fill in all the stats you can on your profile here) then people here might be able to comment more specifically on your particular situation. There's a lot of expertise - really helped me!

Best of luck.

Some people lose quickly & some lose slowly. It’s just how it is. The only thing you can rely on is that your weight of loss will slow over time. Not sure what weight you started at, but if you have more to lose you often lose more in the beginning. If your doctors were concerned they would have said something so enjoy your loss - it’s worth celebrating.

One thing that has really helped me is a set of scales at home that read body Water, body fat and muscle mass. I can watch the trend of water over time (always want it to be going up) against body fat and muscle mass to make sure I’m actually losing fat compared to muscle or water. If you lose a bunch of pounds but your water also decreases significantly, it could be a sign that you lost water vs fat. Just a thought. Good luck!

I lost about 30 pounds in the first month. Sometimes your body is just ready to give that weight up. As long as you don't feel weird or uncomfortable you're probably fine.

I was 313lbs the day I had my FIRST Roux en y gastric bypass... I lost 37lbs in a little less than a month. I got down to 115lbs.

Almost 3 years to the date of having my bypass, I became VERY ILL & saw my doctor who determined I had a staple line failure!!! He had to do emergency surgery and do a revision which involved cutting off my pouch and reforming a new one. This worked for a while-almost 2 years... Then one day I became VERY sick and couldn't keep any food down. I just thought maybe I had a bug. Two weeks went by and I was getting worse! Unfortunately, my original doctor retired so I had to find a new doctor that would take me as a patient & help me.

Found a new doctor and sure enough I had another staple line failure!!! Had another surgery and basically he took all of my stomach out except for a tiny pouch about the size of a VERY small lime. I was in the hospital this time for 9 1/2 MONTHS!!!!!!!

I had started vomiting up black bile while I was recovering in the hospital. I BECAME SEPTIC also!!!! My story has more twists & turns but I need to sleep so maybe I will come back tomorrow and post more!! Good night

I was 355 on the morning of surgery. I lost 40 pounds my first month. At 3 months, I was down 80. 5 months in, and my total loss was 115 (I had begun relatively intense exercise too).

Enjoy the initial melt. It'll slow down. In my experience, this came at around the 3-4 month mark.

Weight loss can vary from person to person, with some individuals experiencing rapid weight loss and others losing weight more slowly. It's important to recognize that weight loss is a gradual process, and it's normal for the rate of weight loss to slow down over time.

If you have a significant amount of weight to lose, you may experience more noticeable weight loss in the beginning. However, as you continue on your weight loss journey, it's natural for the rate of weight loss to slow down.

If you have any concerns about your weight loss, it's important to speak with your doctor. But if they haven't expressed any worries, then you should feel confident in celebrating your weight loss accomplishments. Remember, every pound lost is a step towards a healthier you.

I lost 30 pounds my first month. Some just lose faster than others. I'm 11 months out, and I promise you it will slow down. Enjoy it now while you have it lol

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
