I took more gas drops that time than I took in my entire life. I slept upright in a chair to help. And even if it hurts like every 30 minutes or so do your walking to help break it up. You’re doing good!

The gas drops & gasX won’t work because the surgical gas isn’t in your digestive system but in your abdominal cavity. It rises to settle under your lungs & puts pressure on nerves causing the discomfort. It passes into the lungs where it escapes the body in Water droplets you breathe out. Best thing to do is walk (as much as you can) & you can also march on the spot, do gentle arm lifts sitting or standing & deep slow breathing. Many find heat packs soothing. It usually disappears in about a week +/-.

Congrats on your surgery .

The pain from the surgical gas was actually more painful than my incision sites. The pain went away after about 7-10 days. Continue to take gas x and walking! It will get better but it’s an uncomfortable period when you’re in it.

The gas was probably the worst pain for me of the whole experience. It was really only around for the first week to week and a half. Moving around helped also heating pad/heated blanket. Hang in there you’ll be past it soon if your surgery was the 26th.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
