4 days post op and you want to move onto soft foods? most at least wait 2 weeks minimum for solids. I did liquids only for 2 weeks post op and after that i was cleared to try some soft foods like scrambled eggs. Which i had and had no issues. Tho i could only eat maybe half an egg. I ended up just buying quail eggs since they are much smaller.

I don't think I ate eggs quite that quickly, but plans vary. Make sure it's OK with your clinic

that said, just know that a lot of people have trouble with eggs the first few months after surgery (I didn't, but I know many of us do)

Every doctor and plan is different. If your team says it’s ok give it a try. Just go slow! Also, as catwoman said eggs are a pretty common thing people have trouble tolerating post op. I’m just about 3 years out and still don’t tolerate them well.

I had my first scrambled egg this morning, 16 days post-op. No problems....

Just don't tell my dietician. A scrambled egg is in week 5 of my very conservative plan.

First time I had an egg after surgery I didn't tolerate it at all. Now, I can eat a scrambled egg but don't really like them like I used to.

Every doctor is different but my post-op plan was Clear Liquids Day 1-3, liquid diet 4-14, and then pureed foods Day 15-35, and after Day 35 and on is solid foods. It's important to clear it with your doctor since post-op diet is critical to safety (vs losing weight)

I was allowed scrambled eggs (& instant oats) in the purée stage but they had to be made with more milk & kept pretty runny. Would take me three days to eat two eggs. While plans have differences, 4 days seems too soon. (Two week stage cycles tend to be the most common.) You may struggle so don’t be afraid to go back to only liquids (including the cream soups) for a few more days. And yes, lots of people struggle with eggs - too rich I think.

Thank you I appreciate everyone's comments im going to stay away from eggs and yes i agree with all do what your surgeon requires you to do and that's what I have done. I only do what he told me I could do nothing more.

We had scrambled eggs in the hospital, so as others have noted, every plan is different and if your doc is fine with it, then go for it and try it. Our general plan philosophy was to try new foods one at a time to test for tolerance, and if there was no problem, then great, if there was, then try it again in a week or two. I had boiled eggs that first week, too. We could have anything within the liquid, mushy, pureed or soft regimes that first month. Some could progress quicker than others - that's life. My wife went through this a few years before I did and progressed more slowly, with not even liquids going down as well at first, and that was fine with the doc, well within the expected spectrum of results.

When I tried things like beef veg Soup, the first time I strained out the chunks, the second time I fork mashed them, and the third time just had it as is, soft chunks and all. So go with what your docs direct, and enjoy the ride.

I was able to tolerate eggs pretty good. I just wasnt bothered to eat them that soon. I am just now 3 months post op and eat them more than I did starting out after surgery.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
