Gallstones? I'm currently worried I may have one; woke up with exactly that kind of pain. Had that exact feeling I couldn't stand up. I'll follow the responses here.

I am having similar pain (stomach and back) that comes and lasts for hours then eventually goes away. I saw the surgeon and when he pressed on my gallbladder it hurt. I’m getting an ultrasound Tuesday to check for stones.

Definitely ask your surgeon about the pain!

Have you contacted your team. I don’t think new pain that is so severe you can’t stand up at 13 weeks out is very common. They should have someone after hours to advise you.

I read about this before my surgery back in November 2021. Gallstone formation is a known complication due to fast weight loss.

Sending you lots of healing energy. Let us know if you are doing the cholecystectomy.

I will have my 3 mo follow-up soon and I will discuss this cos you can take something to prevent the gallstone formation.

It's called Actigall (urisodiol - I might not have the right spellings). I was prescribed this right after my surgery to take for 6 months. I haven't had gallbladder issues so far, knock on wood!

Don’t wait for your appointment. Call their office today. If they don’t respond and the pain is terribly bad go to the ER.

If I were You I would go to the ER. I am not a doctor but that just doesn’t sound right.

As in you are a student? If you miss a class, can’t you make it up? You won’t be able to focus and pay attention anyways if you are in that much pain.

Yes I’m a student. It takes hours in the ER and the pain isn’t as bad right now but I’m going to get my mom to take me later

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
