Yes! My surgery date was on 12/27/21. I’m from San Diego and had my surgery at Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest. I’m actually 2 weeks post op. I’m new to this site and I need lots of support. Any recipes on lentil Soups?

Congrats! I’m a bit jealous I must admit. I lost 13.5 lbs the first week after surgery. I lost nothing on the pre op liquid diet after not eating for 7 days and walking 10,000 steps per day on average. This coming Friday I’ll be 4 weeks post op and I haven’t lost anything in the last 3 weeks. I’m starting to feel like God wants me to be fat and/or I just have to accept that I’m going to lose it slower than most but not have lose skin in the end and hopefully have the body that I actually want.. smaller but toned. I am happy for you but I’m not sure why my scale isn’t moving so soon after weight loss surgery. I want to be out of the 200’s already. I started at 241 and have stalled at 228 for 3 weeks now. I’m frustrated. Any tips?

Don’t get frustrated my Dr told me some patients do not loose anything for 6 weeks because your body is in shock and upset from surgery and trying to heal. Just stick to the program it will come off I go through 3-5 days loose nothing then I’ll loose a pound and then loose a little everyday for a few days then bam nothing again. I wanted more weight loss but the Dr said I’m doing good plus slow weight loss is better than fast because it gives your body time to catch up and tone up like you said. Also I was on the liquid preop for a little over a month so I’m so ready for real food. I am walking 2 miles a day and that is in the house because the weather outside it not walking weather. 3 more weeks I’m cleared to go to the gym. Also make sure you’re getting your Water in that helps a ton. I do a Protein Shake at 8 AM and pretty much only eat puréed tuna all day ever 2 hours 3 ounces and if I’m hungry again after 6 I do another Protein shake. i feel like I am eating cat food with all the puréed tuna but it’s the only thing my body likes right now

Hi!

Yes I managed to figure it out, I found that you need to use a laptop as opposed to your phone!

Don't be disheartened, just trust the process, it will come off. Do try increasing your Water and Protein.

Hi everyone, I had my sleeve procedure on 12/21. The first week of recovery was a bit tough, especially with Water intake but things have gone very well since then. I am 27 pounds lost since surgery. I'm currently navigating my way through the pureed stage of food which is not as exciting as I thought it would be lol.

I had my gastric sleeve surgery Dec. 27th. I'm 2 weeks post-op. I've had a harder time with my Fluid intake but it's getting there. Haven't been able to reach 64oz yet. Does anyone know if you can take edibles after the sleeve surgery? I have them for my chronic pain but I don't know if I can and I'm waiting for my doctor to call me back. Thanks for your help!

yes, when I mentioned my edible use to my surgeon she did not have any problem with them at all. I would just make sure you chew them up really good and maybe let them dissolve a bit in your mouth before swallowing. They also have a THC honey that I love - I plan to have all of my options available during the healing process. Just hopefully no munchies!

I haven't had my surgery yet but this is my experience so far. Good luck!

I was sleeved 12/22. My doctor said "if you can smash it with a fork, you can eat it", which gives me many more choices. I'm still drinking my Protein Shakes and having a meal each day which is about 1/2 cup of food. I don't understand how so many doctor's have difference bariatric directions. I'm sticking to the plan, not eating much and having very slow weight loss, compared to everyone else. Then I think to myself, I've never lost 17 lbs. in less than a month before which brings me to a happy dance.

Had mine Dec 29th! Tomorrow week 2 but not doing too good on my weight loss for this week. Bummer. I’ve lost 15lbs started at 228lbs 223lbs pre surgery and now at 213lbs. Been following all orders and been on liquids since Christmas. Ready for puréed stage!!!

I lost really good until week two then nothing for days I’ve only lost just under 2 pounds the past week - was 3 weeks yesterday- but I measure weekly and I lost 8.5 inches so I’m thinking maybe I lost more just not seeing it right now? I’ve lost 28 pounds since liquid stage and down 29 inches total all over. Finally hit 199 the other day but haven’t gotten any lower - I’ll take it 😀 And I’m week 3 which is the dreaded stall week for most anyway. I see my Nutritionist tomorrow I’m hoping she can give me tips. Also my scale says my visceral fat (the fat around the organs) went from 17 to 14 so I’m thinking that has to be a good thing!

It's Saturday!!! My fiance and I are out doing yard work and I made the mistake of not staying hydrated before going out so now my body is shaking and weak. I have my pre-op appointment Tuesday, the 2nd and I am trying my hardest to lose another 2 lbs by then.
