Hello everyone, I had surgery on12/09/2021, I was wondering if anyone broke out in hives 3 weeks after surgery, I did and now I am on steroids to suppress it. Please let me know if anyone broke out in hives, I have it all over my body even in my head. Wishing everyone good luck . Thank you

This happened to me but just on my face but it was caused by over stressing my body and when I got anxiety it went away on it’s own. I heard it’s not uncommon. Hope it gets better

Hi

I had my sleeve on the 20th Dec. I feel great and am two stone down already, including pre op diet. I am managing all Fluid requirements and Protein but hate the sweetness of the Protein Shakes so have now got some unflavoured to add to home made ones.

I am nervous to eat , not because I can’t, have had some puréed apple with no probs but so desperate to lose all my weight. I know I will need to eat to help with the weight loss and I will get my head round it but I’m in the uk and have paid for this op. Hubby was against it but as he’s a decent chap he is being ok but this has to work for me!

In the plus side I already feel better carrying less weight and am so excited to get my health and fitness back.

I feel that way with the Protein. Have you tied the ensure max protein? It’s not really sweet or thick these have saved my life I could do premiers it was thick and sweet and made it hard to take down

Oh no , I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time. I try to do my Protein in the morning and another for lunch and with ice the colder the better . I keep 4 Water bottles 16oz on my bed side so I know to drink those for the day. As far as diarrhea did you notify the doctor about it because they should of quested a stool sample to make sure there’s no bacteria.

Thanks Annie 💞 Yes. I’ve been in close contact with them. In fact, my doctor called me from the operating room! It seems the Protein Drinks are causing it and probably dairy and eggs. It’s a bummer! I’m sure I’ll be able to add things back slowly at some point.

Hey there. I just had mine on Dec. 20th. I just had a post op appointment with my doctor. I have lost 10ths since my pre-op visit with him. I am excited. I have been doing Protein Shakes in morning and evening then Protein Water throughout the day along with regular water just sips. My goal with the water is to drink 32 ounces. It is hard. I eat sugar free Jello as well and broth but this liquid diet is starting to weigh on me and I am starting to want other things. I have one more week of liquid then on 01/05 I can start purée and the Vitamins.

Dec 3 2021 here...guess that makes me 28 days post op...hey now that's four weeks!

I am experimenting with some general foods, although I think I am pretty much sticking to the 'soft' phase.

It’s hard but hang in there . If you rush something sooner than your stomach is ready you can get dumping syndrome.

Sleeved on the 22nd and I can easily take in 64 ounces and have been a few days now. I was given the green to start puréed today and enjoyed some Tomato Soup. I tried some blended peas - ok - I think I’ll just stick to what’s working for a day or so. I did get some Vitamin Water and it made me feel way way better. I still start my morning off with a Protein Shake and end it with one but wow it is nice to have something yummy! I can’t stomach Protein Water but my teenage sons love them so at least they aren’t going to waste!

I am almost 4 weeks postop , I was cleared to eat “soft” foods so my nutritionist told me to eat eggs and tuna until then. I’ve gotten an aversion to the smell of tuna because I work in the vet field and it makes me sick now. I have been eating puréed chicken salad, which she told me to wait until the 27th of Jan to start but it has been going down fine. What my concern is..I take a couple bites I’m FULL not even like 2 hours later I’m starving again and idk if this is normal or its my food addiction again?

I feel the same way - I haven’t started meats but I feel hungry every few hours but it is weird hunger pains it’s like my stomach is super pissed and stabbing me until I put something in it - even Water calms it down. I’m only supposed to eat 3 times a day the puréed food but I’m terrified to eat the tuna and chicken - I did get some today. I also got some hummus and cottage cheese. The only thing of these I ate preop was the hummus so it’s going to be interesting to see the flavors and stuff - how I react or whatever. I told my husband tonight I’m nervous about the hunger I was hoping I wouldn’t be. But I checked my calories and under 400 today but I felt I ate like a Queen lol such an odd feeling

I am experiencing the same thing. My nutritionist says I should be eating every three hours. Even if I drink plenty of fluids, two hours later my stomach is feeling empty. Not sure what to do.

Do you eat the hummus with anything? Just curious.

No I actually just put a little on the back of the spoon and licked it I didn’t want a lot in my tummy Incase I can’t tolerate it. Before surgery I did but there really isn’t anything we can eat with it right now. I did get red bell pepper hummus but it has little chunks of bell so I’m waiting on that one. But I love hummus just as is and it’s got nutrition

It's been a bit of a struggle this last week...I'm hungry ALL the time.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
