I am 6 weeks post op and I had a mini gastric bypass. At this point am supposed to be able to eat everything but if I eat I spoon of something or the smallest amounts I get the worst chest pain and I immediately need to vomit! From the first bite I can feel the “foamy” coming up and it makes me more nauseous. I chew till my jaw cracks and I eat with a kids spoon so I dont know what to do tbh. I am so scared that I’ll be like that forever and wont be able to eat properly again! ( I can easily keep down liquids. Ice Water is my best friend atm cause it help with the nausea a lot ). Please let me know if you’ve been through this or know what would help.

I'm not sure about a mini gastric bypass. but with a regular gastric bypass, that's often symptomatic of a stricture. Call your clinic - they may want to take a look down your throat (and if they see something like a stricture, they can "fix" it while they're in there). Although if it gets to the point you can't even keep fluids down, then go to a hospital. You can live without food for a few days, but not fluids.

Echoing the previous posts - Sounds like structure. When I had one the food would come up without any resistance or prompting. Contact your team as this usually isn’t something that resolves on its own.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
