I had RNY Aug 2nd. Ive been meeting my Water and Protein goals most everyday. Been able to add in my Vitamins. I'm just so badly wanting to EAT something. What did everyone have first and how did it feel/settle? It's so crazy how different each doctors post op plan is.

You said you wanted to eat, not that you were hungry. So you’re dealing with head hunger, not stomach hunger. This is a slippery slope, taking a walk or other activity might help.

100% what freelee said. That head hunger can be annoying. I remember during the all liquids phase I had a desire to just chew something lol. I wanted that sensation that felt like I was actually eating and not just drinking. So I had some sugar free Jello (which counts as a Fluid since it melts in our mouth). I sat there and literally chewed it lol. I had no idea how much pleasure could come from chewing jello, but it was nice. :D

She had her surgery a week ago. She's probably freaking STARVING. I know I was. When you're eating a tiny amount of calories because your stomach has just been ripped apart, guess what you are? PHYSICALLY HUNGRY. It's not "head hunger"...."head hunger" is like.....you're not really hungry you just want to eat...tsk tsk. Like, you've just eaten a well balanced healthy meal and you want a brownie...THAT is head hunger.

When you're eating less than 1000 calories a day and your body is trying to repair itself at a tremendous caloric deficit...many of us experience REAL HONEST TO GOD HUNGER. FFS.

It's ok to be hungry. It's ok to be REALLY HONEST TO GOD HUNGRY.

And it's ok to be honest about it. Feeling hunger when you are not eating much for several days is NORMAL.

Pretending hunger doesn't exist and "it's all in your head and dangerous" is pretty much the definition of a disordered relationship with food.

I had surgery on September 27th and I am one of the very blessed ones that have had no pain to speak of besides a couple days of gas pain. I have lost 9 lb since surgery, and I am feeling a little like I should have lost more by now. Is that realistic? Or am I being too fussy?

Hello everyone.. I had my surgery on Sept 30th 2021.. and it has been an horrible experience to me. I can't hold down fluids or soft food. so much mucus is coming up!! and I'm spitting all day. I'm so sad over this journey. is anyone having this same issue? if so, what are you doing about it.

Are you on meds for reflux? If not you should be at this point. If you are already on reflux meds get in touch with your surgeon asap as this is not normal. If fact i would be getting in touch with the surgeon either way. I hope your issue is resolved and you feel better soon

Tomorrow is the big day! Getting sleeved in the morning and possibly spending a dark and stormy night in the hospital after. I'm actually excited about that because rain on wedding days and birthdays is considered a sign of good luck- so wouldn't a commitment of re-birth qualify as well?
